Pics
Wing covers of different males and under different light conditions and angles. The males are not having the same moulting conditions, but as you can see on the pictures the light and the angle are having an extreme influence to the colour.
All males are imported from Thailand and coming from the same area.

Here are some pictures form our 2015 offspring. The juvenile birds are growing good and are developing very well.

This 7 months old hen is my absolute favourite of all offspring from 2015. A nice hen with long legs, already wonderful coloured. But absolute phenomenal is the long crest. The crest of this hen is already longer compared to many adult females.
But just for information the hen is UNSALABLE!

Yellow faces and long crests

As you can see on the feather shafts, the crests are still growing and have not reached the full length, but they are looking already nice und all are having intensive yellow faces.

This is our female „Hexe“, from her I have only some very rare pictures. As you can see on the picture her smaragd green wing covers are not the reason for it. The only reason is, she is in the aviary with our “Rambo” and he don’t like it if I’m in his aviary to make pictures.

Why wild peacocks often have wide yellow faces?

Why wild peacocks often have wide yellow faces?
I mentioned it already several times, these wide yellow faces they will only get if they have a lot of sunlight. Our skin will only get brown if we have enough sunlight.
Unfortunately we have not strong sunlight at this season. In Thailand they have still 11 hours sun per day and the sun has much more power too.

If you will put birds into two barns and in one you have installed bird lights which are emitting ultraviolet light and one barn with normal light you will see already a difference.
