Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Lol, Jordan would fall under the Eastern Montana label, along with nearly half the state. We have great saddle horses and the world class bucking horse sale, but if you want pedigree, I'd stick with the coasts, as y'all have better registries and more breed specific shows, lol.
If you want to look at horse sales, miles city bucking horse sale is a big event. Rodeos come to get bucking horses from here.

Lol funny they wouldn't split it up more

Yeah, I saw lots and lots of QHs, some were pretty expensive though and claimed to have good lines or training. And lol there's definitely a lot of shows here

And thanks, I'll check that out! Might be fun to even just visit

And I don't really so much care about the pedigree (unless it helps ensure a more sound horse) but I more just want one that is sound (mentally and physically), not spooky or crazy, and can do trails but also maybe some ring. But I figure doing mountains and ranch and stuff but they'd be pretty bombproof lol

Quarter horses are pretty big here. Here's a link to the bucking horse sale

My family used some sort of grade saddle horse for livestock pushing and Shetland ponies to pull coal carts in the mines on great grandpa's ranch near Wolf Point. I don't think ponies get used much for coal carts anymore lol. Probably quarter horse crosses? Other side used belgians at Grandma's place.

Thanks! Do they have other horses besides bucking ones?

And lol they might use some sort of machine now?

I love QHs but still not sure what breed I want. A TB might be nice if I can handle one. Or a mustang. I don't have enough experience for that yet but I really want a mustang haha

They used to adopt out mustangs from the Pryor mountain range. I recommend getting plenty of horse experience before attempting a mustang. They are feral horses, after all, but they can be trained to be very well mannered saddle horses. It would probably be cheaper to consider horses in your own area first, lol. Aren't there feral island horses on the east coast?

Yeah, I don't think I'm ready for a mustang yet but I've been really into them lately lol

And yeah, probably haha I'm just dreaming I suppose

I might start with lessons first before I own one

And yeah, Chincoteague and Assateague I think. They swim across the channel and have an auction every year. But it's just ponies
