I can imagine that stove scaring a child, but I took one look at that photo and before even reading your post thought "that stove comes alive at night and walks about". I don't know which movie had a walking stove, but there's definitely something about that one that conjures up "creepy".My memories were of a big black fire-breathing stove trying to eat me. LOL
I came across this posting just now and had to share it. In 12 years of raising d'Uccles I've never had one that lays 2 or 3 eggs a day.

On another note, thats one of the most poorly bred roosters I've seen. So much for ''great breeding stock''
I'm lucky if I get $30 for a quad of juveniles, and mine are better quality than that.$80 is a bit extreme.
And i think they mean 1-3 eggs from the 3 hens, not from just one.
