Here is a 14 week old grey-mutt silkie...

This one is way bigger than my two partridge silkies (I have one male, one female, yay for self-sexing silkies!). I thought it was a hen, but...I'm not sure. Sometimes it stands up very tall, sometimes tilts forward a lot.

The head is basically a big pom pom.

No way to tell gender from this one pic... Need a full shot from the front and a close up of the comb as well to be able to accurately guess
 
I'm leaning towards cockerel based on the appearance of red on the wings (common male trait). However, Silkies are very difficult to sex.
