Just wondering but whats with all the marks on your egg?

Yea I was wondering the same thing. I know some are for turning but what about the rest?

That's not sad, great idea! I have one for security. I am on day 20 and going crazy with 1 pipped, and nothing from the rest. Hear chirping. I hate leaving the kitchen. I was checking them at 1am and 6am worrying about anything that could go wrong. Now I have a 2nd way to monitor. Just didn't think of it.

LOL! the marks are a result of a newbie (me) candling the eggs and not quite sure what the heck was going on-- over half the eggs had air sacks on the wrong side initially, so I marked them with arrows so I knew which ones to keep an eye on. Some of them had really questionable activity/lack of activity, so they got marked w/ question marks to keep a closer eye on them. Really, it might have been a better idea to keep a little notebook and just put a number on each egg so I could write down notes on each instead of writing on the egg itself, but I guess I can somewhat commend myself for NOT writing paragraphs of notes on each egg! Check marks, by the by, meant that perfect activity was seen in that egg. Okay, okay, I got a little ridiculous about it, but, hey, it's my first time and I'm was a little overexcited by the whole business!

I don't think it's ridiculous at all. I've hatched a bunch and I still mark my eggs up like mad. This latest batch just has the breed (in pencil, marked by the seller) and a dot (sharpie -- green for good, red for candle again and possibly toss), but I've had lots of chicks hatch out of eggs that look like I climbed in the incubator to write a novel.
