yay! will have to start hatching! I might be able to borrow a big incubator so once everyone starts laying Im gunna have lots of chicks! Oh gosh

LOL>> I think your right.. Once you get a big incubator it's chicks galore from there on out!
 
God aint that the truth, got about 80 ohiki alone hatching this weekend, not even counting all the other stuff...it's a sick addiction I have

LOL The same with me! I don't have that much hatching right now but I will be soon I hope.

Chuck do I remember reading somewhere you feed sweet feed grain to your ohiki or did I just make that up?

I do. I feed it to them in the winter but not any other time of the year. It helps to fatten them up for the cold weather. That is a trick that Toni told me years ago that works very good.
 
Makes sense, does the same thing for horses! haha Could one feed it to a bird that needs more weight and to bulk up even if it's not winter?
 
I use an "all stock" sweet feed year round on mine. It is one of the few kinds around here that has oats and not corn. I use it it at about 30% of the total mix. I am happy with their condition..
 
Got a couple pics last night. These are a couple of my project birds. I like this ones type, he has a lot going on color wise. The ends of his hackles are a nice Dunn color. Not sure how I am going to use him just yet but I'm sure I will find a place!




This Ginger Red has a lot of leg but so many other good going for him. I am breeding from a short legged one right now. This one will probably end up in a phoenix project!
