OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

On a side note, my BLRW chicks from foley lines are looking like 7 pullets and 1 cockerel. Mildly disappointed as 2of those pullets have single combs. Guess I'll just put them in the layer pen.
its a common problem in most wyandottes. i always sent the straight combs to pet or layer pens. you can still breed them if they are needed, as long as your rooster is rose comb.

Well I think unless they turn out super nice lacing and type I'll just throw them in the layer pen. I think I've got one roo in this younger batch with 5 rose comb pullets and I've got the older pair that is about ready to lay. So 6 pullets and 2 Roos (as long as they turn out decent) should give me a OK start. The original pair is a very dark blue and I've got blacks, dark blues, and one normal blue in this batch. The cockerel is looking black. If he is black and not really dark blue I'll just pair him with all the blue hens and put the blue roo over the black hens. It will yield 50/50 that way.

She will be. She has depression (thinking manic depression). School is horrible for her because she has been picked on and the first day back was the onset. So I'm bringing her home and homeschooling her for at least a yr. I'm only taking online classes next term so I'm at home all the time except when I work. But life keeps rolling on. What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. But I'm glad I'm a nurse and work in mental health. The hospital has been very frustrating and I'm just taking her out and starting outpatient therapy. I'm going to get alot of things we use at work and have her do them as part of her class. Plus I work with awesome mental health therapists and RNs so I will get info from them. My job has been so understanding and I am so great full they understand. Tomorrow is my first night back since Wed of last week, they sent me home Thursday to take her to the hospital. Where there is bad there is always good. :)

i have a 15 year old that is an accelerated learner, but she also has severe anxiety. ive been doing the mental health thing with her. shes doing better and starting to not be so much of a wallflower. she gets it honest though, i hate crowds.

they learn to deal with things, but just like when things crash down on adults and we "panic". so do they... when kids gang up and pick on you im sure its hard to deal with. bullying has become an issue in a lot of schools, i honestly think its lack of attention because of both parents working, and the overall moral decay of society.

it scares me to death to think about some of these kids running the retirement home when im there. they will probably snap pictures of my naked butt with their I pods and post it on youtube. (hope they have a wide angle lense)

Lol. I know what you mean about the kids now. Mine are made to be respectful and do chores and work. I'm a strict mama.

She came to the point where she had actually made a suicide plan. I've learned this past weekend what anxiety attacks feel like. I've had 3. I go up and visit her everyday until she kicks us out. She started new meds and today she was a totally organized calm child (she also has ADHD). But due to no communication with her psychiatrist ( i was told he doesnt call parents and i demanded he call me) and only having one nurse who will take the time to talk to me I decided to bring her home. Her social worker is an idiot who didn't even bother looking at her chart before talking to me today and came to our meeting 45 min late. I'm calling to set up her outpatient tomorrow before I get her discharged. Think her social worker learned where my daughter got some of her anger from. Lol

On a brighter note. She will love all the new fluffy butts when their eggs hatch. :D she took over my choc orps so she will be acquiring any blacks that hatch. As soon as I meet up with who I need to all my kids will officially have their own chickens to raise. Sooo excited. Now I just need to finish by splitting up the coop.

Hmmm and only 34 miles from my parents...

Wonder if they want to put up with a roo for a week or so? Lol

If I had everything where it should be I'd probably be getting a pair. Love the Millie color (hence my Millie leghorns). Oh, do silkies come in a calico color? Hmmmm

Silkies do come in calico! They're a project color. I use to have a calico roo but he was sold along with the others to bethel Ohio. He was an oopsie that popped up from a cuckoo pen.
