OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

these would be higher than that, but what i have in mind i can modify easy to fit the applications needed. it would be more expensive than most 40 egg units on the market, but less than anything holding 100 or more eggs that i can find easy. im thinking about using a similar turner design to the one ive designed for my larger incubator, but on a smaller scale. the mechanics, less metal and wood would cost about $80 so im guessing a complete unit would be around $175 for a 100 egg incubator.

That would be nice. With the cheap one I got, I was lucky to find it on a sale for $30 (now $42) Egg turner was about $30 its a Still air it holds about 41 eggs, though as you seen we pushed it to the limit Saturday lol - Plus I did something extra stupid this month with a 3 different hatch days.. still need to figure out how I am doing that part.. kinda glad for 90's weather I might be able to use back porch a little.

Not bad! If it works right, that'd save a pretty penny versus buying manufactured bators. Mine only cost us around $10, not including the thermostat, and I could fit probably quite a few in there (40ish?) if I stood them up. I lay them flat, though and the 15 only took up half of it. Not a bad deal. DH was a bit miffed that we'd just spent nearly 100 on a little 7-10-egger.

I tried to download the java, now all I have are pop up adds advertising flash players!!! URRRGH I had to have it looked at this evening by a very knowledgeable friend.  He got a lot of  stuff off that was downloaded when I tried the java, but didn't have time to get it all off before my battery died.  It has a very short charge. So I'm tolerating them until he has time to finish. Not sure what I did, but he will get it figured out.  I can still get online now at least.  I couldn't before. Oh, btw, one of the chicks died this eve.  Not sure what was wrong.  It was the smallest.  I didn't notice anything until this afternoon when I fed them.  It was standing with its eyes closed and it was being jostled around.  I separated it and wrapped it in a wash cloth under the lite, tried to give it some water, but it never perked up.  Came home from church this eve., and it was gone. The others are very strong though.  I think they missed their mama though as they cheeped all day yesterday!! They've settled down now.    Also, how old are the chicks? I was thinking maybe a week.
I am so sorry that you lost one of them I will replace it as soon as I catch back up with you! They are 11 days old today. I took some pictures last night it was late so they are not the greatest but I actually get off work early today so hopefully I'll be able to get some better ones today in the Sun.

Fun news, I had one more hatchling today! Of the 15 extra EE eggs from minihorse that I threw together a homemade styro-bator for, one hatched today (Day 22) which is a true miracle! The temps in that thing were insane. Down to 85 one hour and up to 112 the next. I was sure they were all dead. This little penguin :))) hatched this morning. One other pipped yesterday but seems to be in a wonky position so I've been helping it. It's still alive but I'm not holding my breath for him. One other egg was alive yesterday but never saw anything from it after then so I started to help and realized it was already dead, yolk fully absorbed and all, so sad.
