The stupid Brinsea is especially fond of killing my duck eggs.. This little tyke had a few siblings that should have hatched with it, but they all quit in lockdown. I dubbed him/her "Special".

Lots of pics, sorry.. Proud new momma..lol.

Oh Emily!!! It is just beautiful!!! What kind is it?

Oh I'm in love :love how adorable!

Hehe thanks, guys! He sure is a cute little stinker! He's a mix, Debbie. :D Parents are probably pure, but we'll have to wait to see how he feathers out to know who the culprits are. ;) I'm betting right now that his momma is a Black Swedish and daddy is a Cayuga. But then again, one of my super-colorful Appleyard crosses was black-and-white (the spitting image of Daffy Duck) as a baby. So time will tell. :D

awww, look at the ducklet! It's so stinking cute. Patiently waiting on my 4 ancona to make an appearance. 2 of them have been working on it since last night.

Any interest from anyone in a brooder like the three tier we built? We were thinking of building another to sell if there's any interest.

I had to completely assist little Special. He managed a puny pip, but didn't do anything again for almost 2 days, so I busted him out. He was shrink-wrapped (no surprise..) and wouldn't have made it much longer.

Out of curiosity, whatchu guys chargin' for those brooders?

I am looking for rabbit hutch style cages (wood frame, wire floor with nest box area...wood & wire walls). Small coops or chicken tractors & a dog house style box suitable for ducks & geese are also needed. Also looking for scrap wood, wire & hinges & latches. Free or swap for birds. I have a few 1 yr old layers of various breeds, tons of rainbow layers, poliskies, polbars & ee bantams, a few ancona ducklings, & heritage turkey poults to swap plus a mini nubian goat buck who is 10 months old & was bottle fed & very friendly. Would need these delivered near Fresno after the 1st as I have nothing to haul them in. We are moving & our current poultry shed is not movable.

Good Day to you all!!! I would like to invite any one in this area (adams, brown, highland) or anyone close by, to a benefit in Sinking Springs at the community center. This is for my daughter in law, Stephanie, who has cystic fibrosis. She is a 33 yr old mother of 2, ages 11 & 8 (two of my perfect grandchildren!

). She has to have a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic. They have to have a lot of funds in the bank before they can put her on the list. It is for living expenses, travel time, etc, as they will have to relocate there, and when she has the actual transplant, stay there for up to 5 months or longer, barring any complications. There will be a spaghetti dinner, silent & live auction, raffles for great prizes, inflatables, cotton candy, and popcorn for the kids. So if you are in the area, pop on over! It starts at 4pm this Saturday, May 31. Stephanie is an amazing woman, and has been fighting cf all of her life. Her brother passed away from cf at the age of 18, about 7 years ago. All proceeds go to 'Lungs of Love for Stephanie Stephens". Any monetary donations can be made at any NCB bank in the name of the above. I feel it sounds like I'm promoting for myself, but it isn't like that at all. So I hope no one takes it like that. But she is my DIL, I love her and want the transplant to happen. Hope to see some of you! But if you can't come, please pray for her. It would be fun to meet you! I've met several of you at stevens21 swap last fall. My name is Debbie Stephens, so if you do make it, ask around. Someone will know where to find me!!!
