OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

If you can, it would be cheaper for you to buy feed normally from a feed mill. Also don't worry so much on being perfect, I think you need to trully exp things on the fly. I thought I had everything set up and nothing would throw a wrench in the plans... Could not be farther from the truth!! If you are buying the 250 watt red heat bulbs also, its cheaper to buy them at Tsc for 10.00 for 2 of them. Never know when you need an extra, been there a few times, running up to Walmart, to bend over and pay 10.00 for one as I dropped the ball lol.

well i have finally made up my mind. i have been debating on working on some project breeds, and was looking at the space required to do so; along with the space our farm already takes/needs. when i originally got into this, it was for self sufficiency; not breeding show quality bantams. i am going to keep some bantams i need for my projects, but i am selling out all of my old english game bantams, my millie fleure d'ucles, full white japanese, my silver quail d'anvers, my black rosecombs, my white leghorn bantams, and probably my black/blue, and white silkies. my fawn silver duckwing oegbs are already sold, if any of you are interested in any of the others, let me know and i will get you a price.

oegb's for sale: b.b. red, fawn red, silver duckwing, cuckoo, lemon blue, dark blue, lavender/self blue, quail, black, white, blue splash. these are all breeder or show quality.

my new projects will be several new/recreated auto sexing varieties, and some new color in some old breeds. first project i know for sure im doing is crele plymouth rocks. im also going to work on some heritage breeds, improving my RIR's and plymouth rocks, thinking about getting seriously into wyandottes.

edited to add: i missed some oegb's that i have red pyle (needs color work), crele and spangled.

Should've read the thread before my PM. Oh man, Brian, those are all so tempting. Especially the d'anvers and leghorns. I'm going to try to convince myself again that I shouldn't bring in any more roosters.

I'll let you know which side wins. :gig

one of the leghorn hens is actually setting a nest right now. imagine, a leghorn setting! i haven't gotten her up, but it looks like about 8 eggs under her.

by the way, i noticed how you struck through "addiction" in your PM; are you insinuating that i might be addicted????

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I've been cooking for two days and not done yet. But I won't cook again all weekend. Chickens are gonna be happy this evening with all the veggie scraps. Have a good day all. Jane

Help . have seven or eight mille fleur (calico) cochin bantam roosters to rehome. Free to anyone that is close enough to pick them up. They are all this years hatch and very nice birds. just cannot keep all these roosters. PM me if interested. Thanks

@cabinchicky You would think with necks like this:
400
400

they would freeze, but NNs actually do very well in the cold as their skin is thick despite their nekkidness. Trust me, though, I've considered crocheted neck warmers. :lol:

@loveourbirds Tomaeto, tomahto. :plbb
