OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Anyone else getting this crazy hail/lightening?

It DUMPED here while we were in church. It was running a river down the parking lot. I don't think I've seen it do that before! Lights flickered some, but didn't stay off. I don't think we got hail though. We have the hoop/coop-greenhouse that is covered in plastic. It didn't have any holes in it, thankfully. That is our breeding pen!

It got dark and could hear thunder in several directions, couple drips, but not enough to wet the sidewalks. Watched the Dayton news early this morning, man did a stretch from Troy down through Greene county get pounded. They said they got 2 and half inches in a half hour. Flooded out both I-70 and I-75. 4-5 inches total.

I get a lot of cute emoticons from that site. :D

While we're on goats.. I have a Pygmy doe (Eleanor) that is tied all the time. I agree, no fence is goat-proof. She usually stays with her best buddies, the horses, at night (tied to the shelter), and haven't had any issues with predators. I've actually seen the horses run off the neighbor's dog when it was pestering her. She's my weed-eater during the day. When we got her as a 7-month old, she was super scared of people, but she's about 2 now and will rub against me to be petted lol. She thinks she's a house goat and when she's tied to the front porch, she sneaks inside when you open the door and makes herself at home. Then throws a fit when you toss her back outside lol.
I'd like to get one more Pygmy or Dwarf doe to keep her company (on the Craigslist prowl for one <$100), but that's it. And definitely not a male. We had a Nigerian billy as a pet at home when I was growing up, and he stank to high heaven. Nauseating. Eleanor doesn't smell at all.

I've been lucky with the weather so far. A few times we've had severe thunderstorm warnings/tornado watches, but it hasn't amounted to more than a heavy spring shower *knock on wood*.

I may be getting a couple of pygmies. I really want babies, but we'll see.

Good luck! You'll love them. They're a bit like chickens..expensive, messy, noisy, bratty.. but totally worth it for the cutes and funny antics.
I found Eleanor on Craigslist. I've seen quite a few goat babies posted lately. I have a friend in Piketon who sells babies (pygmies, I think, might be dwarves) every now and then, too.

You could save that smiley site in your browser favorites probably. :) Depending on what browser you use (with Chrome you can just click the little star in the URL box to add a bookmark), there should be an option up top there in the browser window somewhere to add a bookmark. There are a few other sites besides sherv.net that have cute smileys for forums, too: freesmileys.org, yoursmiles.org, pic4ever.com, mysmiley.net.. :D
