OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Good morning triplet, Have a nice day! it's a little warmer here today. I got my guineas yesterday, opened the box and 5 out of ten were DOA. They got caught in the cold snap. Two more died during the day. The good news is Hoover will replace or refund after 48 hours. I have noticed when chicks reach the Cleveland post office, they seem to get delayed.

Good morning! You can call me Becky by the way. Sorry to hear about your keets, doa is never fun. I've never ordered chicks online so I wouldn't know about them being delayed but I'm not shocked they'd be delayed in Cleveland. Hope the remaining ones thrive and you can get reimbursment for the others. I'm glad it's warmer now, the temps are supposed to drop and bring in rain. My yard was finally drying out

Hi Becky, I'm surprised the four I have left seem to be doing well.:jumpy

Good morning Debbie, sorry to hear that. I hope something didn't get in and eat the eggs! it sure is a battle with the racoons around here. My little ones are growing so fast!
Mark I read that if the eggs are not fertile the Hen will know and kick them out. I know her Sister is probably put her eggs in the nest too and I am sure she is not throwing out fertile eggs as the back of her head has not been touched. The one that flew the coop is the real Mother for the most part. I had put a few white eggs in from other hens but I am not sure if they were fertile or not. I have never had a coon get into my coop, Thank You Lord!!! I have Nite-Guard lights on all sides of it and it is pretty well protected. Sugar is sitting tight on those eggs and she has never gotten to have any ducklings yet so I am just going to keep an eye on her. Thanks though.

Good morning Debbie, Thats great news that Sugar is sitting good! My female swan is setting on two eggs in the coop. Her name is Swanita, She is a sweety. The Cob is on the war path with strangers at the moment. His name is Baby cakes or BC for short. He gets all hunkered up when a strangers approach the fence. :love

Good morning(afternoon) Mark. Rained all night here, creek is high and backyard is muddy
It rained here also. I woke up this morning early and looked out the window and to my surprise there was a monster skunk in the west acre. It looked pregnant. Wow was she a big one. Cute as could be. I hope she made it home safe she picked around the grass for about 1/2 hour then headed for the woods across the road. I would have liked to got a photo, but I'll be darned if I was going to get that close. 🦨💨💨
