OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Save yourself the worry and don't free range! To many predators in this state! I am on my 3rd flock. I lock my girls up every night even tho their run is fully enclosed. I am south east of Columbus and we have killed over 20 raccoons in my area this past summer.
I got 6 in 6 days & the neighbor girl got 3 more in 2 days. And we're even in town. Haven't had a problem with them since tho.

Not "Free Range" chickens "Freedom Rangers".. They are a slower growing version of the cornish cross. They dress at 16 weeks vs 8 weeks.

Your right though. I've shoot 13 coon, 3 possum, 1 skunk and a hawk over the summer and have another hawk that continues to stalk my girls when they are out in the barnyard.

Better watch taking out hawks. That's illegal.

Nope! That's Charlie Brown - really! He's south of me...I'm just North of Fulton on the west side of the road, beigey house with white fencing. I'm set back from the road so the coops really aren't too visible - Bredwinner Farm is the name of my place. What's happening this weekend? Maybe we can (finally) get together to talk chicken!

Oops...isn't the fair this week???
I will have to keep my eye open for it. We'll be up in Mt. Gilead at the fair this weekend. My daughter will be playing flute in the Highland Marching Band Sunday. Once the parade is over, I'll probably be hanging out in the poultry barn for a while and then looking over the rest of the livestock cheering on the other kids in the club. Look for a guy in a red American Buckeye Club t-shirt and battered fedora hat.

Hello fellow Buckeyes! I have just started my journey with backyard chickens. I am gathering all the info I can possibly get. I live in Toledo. Any one else around my area?

Hello from Greene county!

Hoping to have a nice sunny day tomorrow so I can get some clear shots of my flock and get them identified on here. Having a flock of 27 and not having a clue how old or what breed they are is quite interesting. All I know is my dining room table is covered in eggs!

Glad there are so many buckeyes out there with chickens. How are there people left that still buy eggs from grocery stores?

I live just north of Findlay!!!

I wonder that myself. I cannot go without fresh eggs. Even during the winter, If my hens start slacking, I look for other fresh eggs. I never buy them from a grocery store. :sick
