Okay how to put this................

Sorry CMV. There's a pair of coyotes plus their 3 or 5 of their pups around here that has been scoping my flock out. She sure hates them 'yotes. Plus way to many coons and possums for my liking around here.

I can't find the hawks' body anywhere!!! I think Koda must've drugged it off to eat. Ick.

I also hate it when Koda drags deer legs up from the woods.

Plus just 2 or 3 weeks ago Koda dragged the top half of a deer skull and the spinal cord.

I threw up when that happened.

Yeah but it's pretty gross thinking of a pure white Great Pyr. eating a hawk.

What if she gets blood all over her? Then I have to give a bath in the middle of winter!!! It gets pretty cold here. And she hates the blow dryer. I got all scratched up the last time I tried using the blow dryer on her.

Sounds like Koda did her job in protecting your chickens. Even though "ignorance of the law is no excuse", i don't think that extends to dogs. i agree with the others - bury the hawk and go about your business.

I stated that "certain" people watch boards like this and will start something about animals having harm done to them by people or otherwise. I have to watch what i say.. don't want to break the rules again.

I think we can trust the mods here to take care of that. From what I see they're very good.

And 4 love of chickens, if one of my animals got into your yard and your Koda killed it, I wouldn't hold you or Koda responsible in any way. It's my job to keep my animals on my property. I just can't see how you can be responsible for a wild animal killed in your own yard.

It's gross that Koda probably ate the bird, but she just made your life a lot simpler, huh? "Hawk? What hawk? Can the government really afford to send you guys out on a wild goose -- excuse me, wild hawk -- chase in an economy like this?"

Good dog, Koda!

The mention of the organization, positive or negative, is not allowed. The rule was simply copied and pasted here, which included both the organization as well as the illegal activity. If you have any questions about the moderating of a post/thread, please PM someone on the staff, not post about it, which is also against the rules of the forum.

In my opinion, the OP did nothing wrong. This is just a dog killing a bird, in this instance. You just can't keep the feathers, per law, if I'm not mistaken.
