He appears to be a game of some sort. My law greys look a lot like your little man. As he grows older his neck feathers will turn a blonde color.. They are truly beautiful fowl. If you go to ultimate
fowl website, you will see a grey in the upper right hand corner.

Thanks for the input! Boy, that would be a good lookin' dude, too! So far, everyone's come up with a breed that would be easy on the eyes, so that gives me some hope - now, if he just crows softly at say, noon...

Leghorns are recognized by the APA in buff, white, black, black tailed red, silver, red, dark brown, light brown, columbian, and golden plus rose combed varieties. White, light brown, and silver are the most common that you'll find in commercial hatcheries.

Thanks so much to everyone who has weighed in with an opinion! I have to say, looking at pics of young roos that are Silver Leghorn, Silver Sussex, Pencil Rocks, etc. I am leaning toward the Silver Leghorn looking the most like my little guy ( and the gal too - although who knows?) Although I can also see what the game people are saying as well... The upright stance and heft of the thighs is really most similar to the Leghorn, as well as the juvenile color pattern...I guess I'll know more about the girl when she starts laying!

I guess since I already have blue, olive and brown eggs some white ones will provide a nice contrast.
