A lady I buy my marans from mentioned that the collinsville livestock auction wasn't letting the poultry peeps there any longer! That is no bueno! She lives in claremore so that was a pretty short drive for her. I've been to the admiral flea market, kind of scary. Last time I went there, their was a guy was selling some sorry looking chicks. Haven't been back since. Has it gotten better?
Does the lady in claremore still have marans?
I bought some Black Copper Marans from a lady here in Claremore. I have a rooster that I am going to find a new home for, if anyone wants him. He's a good boy, but doesn't like my six year old. I can't think of that ladies name right now (if it's the same one, but I have her number. She's very nice.

I just love their stubby little bodies! I was thinking they were German Modenas, which are snaller than regular Modenas. I think I'm just used to my big LF Cochins because these guys really aren't small for pigeons. When Michael gets a chance maybe he can let me know but I'm thinking they're the standard sized Modenas, which is even cooler.
Kass, FaerieLady explained it better than I could about them not flying. They're just too heavy and broad. I did decide to revise where I was goimg to put them though-again. I'm just enamoured with them. The female is 7 yrs old and the male is 2, but there's not a single broken or tattered feather anywhere on them. Someone has taken excellent care of them.
Ok, I'll shut up about my new birds now lol
