***OKIES in the BYC III ***

It's hard to believe it's Friday already. I'm taking a Light Sussex hen, one of Victoria's test group, to her middle school today. It's science project presentation time, and this is my chance to provide a visual aid. As chicken wrangler, I get to hold the hen, walk around the room, point to various parts of the chicken, and produce a baby wipe from my pocket in the event of a poop. The rest is all up to DGD. She made display boards, wrote a paper, crunched the numbers on live weight before and after feeding supplements, and measured eggs. I don't know what her conclusions are, yet, but I'm anxious to find out. I know from my perspective, the group that got the supplements appears cleaner, is laying better, and has more spunk.

Okay.. I have more info.
Feb 8th Yonna will be on tv ksbi 52 with Larry and Mary the silkies that are from fellow
BYC'ers. Also we are putting on a poultry clinic with three different county's soon. I hope
this will help us get the Oklahoma Poultry Federation back up and hosting a show that would
be local right here in OKC. I have the cages and the judges along with some money to back
this up. However for now a clinic to share some skills and have excess to some birds and info.
Anyone have the contact info for the feather less bird?
have a nice day...

Yes, we have a winner.

This makes me feel old. Actually, it just demonstrates my love for classic films. Sad but true, I love bad films too. I enjoy "watching" a story develop. DH says it's hard to watch movies with me. I don't jump up and scream, "The butler did it!" but I do wear that face, as DH calls it, when I've figured out what is going to happen next. He's an observer when it comes to movies, but the writer in me is always trying to figure out what the next line will be before it's spoken. Loved The Egg and I, by the way. It's an interesting film.

I would be intrested in a clinic. I am new to this chicken thing and I am always reading books and magazines for info, it would be nice to meet some local people that have chickens also.
