***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good morning all. Sad day at my house. Last night I opened something on my computor I guess I shouldnt have because my computor is all but fried. Internet is about all I have. Have lost all files on harddrive. McAfee said it detected and removed a trojan, but must have been to late as I keep getting alerts saying harddrive clusters have been destroyed no RAM detected etc. Have nothing, no document programs, pictures, games all gone. Hope the computor doctor can retrieve it back.
I am not a computer dr - and cant walk you through it while typin this on my phone, but youcan restore your computer back to where it was a wk ago with just a few clicks. I lost all my files one day When I was working full time online -- the tech guys at work had me download super anti spyware. There is a free version. You run it-- delete all it finds then run it again-- seriously can go on all day! But ran the spyware program a dz or so times the. Restored to a point a wk back ran the spyware thing again & all my files came back. Took me almost a whole day to get everything removed but it worked for me. Good luck!

I have coffee going now--- moving really slow today, nervous I might be coming down with one of those icky bugs the kids like to bring home from all their friends.

Nana I found a house plan the other day with an amazing laundry room-- got excited showed DH & he said whats the big deal? So now we have moved on to a new method. I tab the plans I like, on the tab I write what I like or want to change & he is allowed to look at those. Giving him several house plan books appeared to be overwhelming, he is the kinda guy that can't handle going to the cheesecake factory since the menu has too many options. I am sure I will keep looking at plans-- but I insist on a 1 story home so that eliminates lots of plans.

On the price for those eggs. I know the persons that have them have paid alot of money to get them......

Thank you everyone for thoughts on DD, I hope it is just an eye problem, she slept most of the day after she got home yesterday but had a nose bleed this morning (odd for her).

Hope Maddie gets to feeling better soon.

Sorry about the computer problems, I keep all my photos on a slave drive so that if my hard drive goes I still have my pics, I think Gary has other documents on it too. They aren't pricey.

Robin $30 for an egg? Is that shipped or picked up? From what I've read about shipped eggs if there is an expert hatcher you still get around 50% hatch rate at best. Guess it depends on how badly you want that breed, is buying day old chicks from the source not an option?

here is a question for you all.... i was thinking of buying some english orp eggs to hatch- not the american orps... but the individual is selling them for $30 a piece? is that normal price?

To each his own, I think that is high, but it all depends on how many people are willing to pay that much.
If they are actually selling them, then I guess you have to go with what the market price is and how much
you feel you can afford to pay for them.
I think the risk factor is much too great to spend $30 on an egg.
I am overstating the obvious, but for every egg that doesn't hatch you will lose $30 bucks and it expotentially drives up the cost of each chick that does hatch.
Just my opinion, but again I think the risk is far too great.

well, seeing as i only hatched 1 out of the last time i ordered, i don't think i'll go that route- that lone silky girl cost $20!!

those english orps are so pretty, but... not at that cost...i'l go with the cochins instead- same type but fluffy feet... and huggable-

Last yr I suspected my peahen lays her eggs in her sleep. Even the egg we found last wk was near the roost. They have a perch the sit on during the day & above that is a higher roost. Today I found an egg broken on the perch. Guessing she laid it while roosting & it hit the perch. My peacock was displaying when I was checking on them. His lady went behind him & ran inside the house for cover. Think she is saying she isn't interested.

Guess we will take the perch away-- or make it smaller -- think it is 2x8 right now. Would hate for all her eggs to end up broken!
