Actually those guys were arrested for an outstanding warrant and for having a firearm after a felony. They were parked on the side of the road at a man's place who owns game chickens. (probably looking to buy or sell some). They had five roosters in their truck which were confiscated.
No arrests were made on the people who owned the property.
The media played it up as a cockfighting bust but there were no arrests made for cockfighting or for illegally owning game chickens.
I totally agree that posting an ad for fighting roosters on CL is not the brightest idea.

Joined up BYC back in October, but just now realized there was an Oklahoma page (I'm relatively new to OK). So, I just thought I would pop in and say "Hello" to everyone!

Welcome! We moved to OK 7 years ago with the plan to move when DH retired from the Military. That was 1 1/2 years ago. Watch out! OK grows on you, especially when you meet the poultry folks.

Okla - I have PayPal account and as far as I can tell it is safe, convenient and easy to use and maintain. Never have had any problems with it. There are several options to choose from when setting up an account but the one I use is just for money to go into and out of. My son has that type of account also, but he has their credit card, too. He likes that part. It's more like a debit card, really, because he can only use it if there is money in the account that the card is attached to. I've sent money to him that way. I just transfer money from my personal bank account to his PayPal account. Very easy to use and the money gets there immediately.

Edited to add that I have purchased items from eBay and other online retailers using PayPal. IMO, it's the way to go. Transactions are immediate and no hassle.

I agree. I've never had any problems with Paypal.

Forgot to say welcome Jon! And don't worry now that you found this group any type of chicken you want you will be able to find! Helpful group of folks whose goal is to make sure you even able to have to birds you didn't know you were in need of.

Got mine home they really are cool LOL only thing is I dumped the Dubia into the Rubbermaid tub I set up for them and some of the smaller ones made it to the top and almost out before I saw that they DO climb!! I put some petroleum jelly around the top I had already treated the Hissers tub that way cause I know they can climb...

Went to Tractor supply and was looking at a few things happened to notice that the Rubbermaid trashcan like I got from them before were all sold out but, there were 4 lids left over, I have been trying to find a way to buy some of the lids W/O the can cause they fit perfect over my plastic 55 gal barrels and keep all the water out better than the lids that came with them, So I asked them about the extra lids and the clerk said we only sell them with the set but he allowed he would ask the manager to make sure and came back out saying "This is your lucky day" and they gave me all 4 of them, That is a good score in my opinion LOL

I love deals like that! Makes me smile every time I see what I got.
