Why do u think it aint a ladybug Kass? Thats what I would have called it.

I thought ladybug beetles were not as orange/red and more of a red/red (blue red) and were shaped just a little diff, not as oval and more round.

Oh by the way if anyone is curious the last long black one w/ orange is the larva or pupa (I forget which) of the ladybug beetle, so a great guy!!!!!!!! If you see them encourage them they are huge preditory insects.

And I found out the first ones that were just hatched out are the nymphs of stink bugs, so for you Mefordz they are boy cooties, and should be smashed on sight!!!!!!!!

Okay googled asian lady bug vs ladybug beetle. Both are good insects that predate on all kinds of crop eating insects especially aphids, but the asian ones tend to eat the insects infesting trees where the regular ones tend to hunt on plants and gardens.

Well we got the pigs moved to a "hopefully" more secure pen!! I checked the hen that hatched out on looked at the eggs and the one I held up to the sun and looked through was not started so I chunked them in the pig pen, sure enough they were all clear!!!! SOOO Noww I'm not sure which eggs I put under her, guess I should write these things down somewhere, Now if I could find where I put my pencil and notebook!!!!! Lynn

Kass - thanks for posting those pics. I've been squishy those first ones for the last few weeks! Makes me feel better to know what they are. When in doubt I squish.

Traci, wonderful pictures! Your Doms stay in a 2' fence???? I don't think even my Silkies would stay in a 2' fence. We got a 4' fence for the Silkies new yard today and I was kicking myself all the way home for cheaping out and getting 4' instead of 5'. Have they ever tried to get out of the 2'?
