Thanks Kass, i do understand there are different strains, and vaccinating is supposed to made them immune to a point, but i have been following a thread on b yc where the chick was vaccinated and is now fighting mereks- i wonder if its like getting a chickenpox vaccine, you get a milder case? just one of those stray thoughts, i'll look into the turkey idea too- someone on FB is also fighting it in the flock she has

I hope I don't offend anyone but I went to check facebook and good grief! If I see or hear one more thing about the darn football super bowl game I will scream! Well, not really, but I will be annoyed. I thought I would come to the BYC and check and see how everyone was doing. A place I can come and read about things other than a bunch of over grown men chasing after a ball made of pig skin.

6 sizzle babies hatched here over the past couple days. I am so glad to have had a good hatch on shipped eggs after several disappointing ones!

Yay! I bet the sizzles get cuter as they grow too!

Great snow out there for us. Made way west to our pasture in Tuttle to get eyes on a 2 day old calf. Lots of stupid on the roads out there.....

But here is the boy! We call him Double Spot.

His mama is doing a great job keeping him healthy.
Wish I were as good a chicken mom.....
