***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey Kass, did you find a good resource for edible wild plants for bunnies? My girl apparently hates the bunny chow.

Kyz, they need 85% or so of their diet to be plain hay or plain long stemmed grass. They can be free fed pellets til they're 5-6 mo old but after that are only supposed to have like 1/4 c a day.

@hotcurltr awesome news!!!!

@Kassaundra on my way to look at the pics!

I have a mother hen that I let hatch out her eggs and her babies are 2 weeks old and she is doing a really good job of taking care of them, they moved outside this last weekend in a small pen with a coop(made preditor proof and so babies cannot get out) My question is how long do the mother chickens take care of their babies before they get tired of caring for them. Thanks

Mine usually stay in mama mode 6+ weeks, then you have some that never shift out of mama mode- my silkie Amber is like that, mama to some of yours, i had a cochin that was fefd up by a month and nipped the kids till they understood- each one is different

I've only had 2 hens raise chicks but they never did quit taking care of them. The 1st set is 2 yrs old now and the girls pile up with their mama and sit on eggs together.
