***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hi there everyone, I'm trying to get better about searching this thread down. I have been horrible about getting on BYC since the last big change, it is so much harder now to navigate and keep track.

NanaK so sorry to hear about your sister, hope she finds a skilled surgeon and recovers well. Surgery is always scary, but brain surgery especially so.

Yes I raised rabbits for a while, had a lot of success, to much so I couldn't keep up w/ the processing w/ a 50 - 70 hour work week (including commute times) so we don't have them now, maybe in the future when I can keep up. lol

Matt I'll be home soon. And I told my wife that 3 weeks ago. I still have them if you want them.

Nana glad to hear you have the chicks going already. And sorry to heat about your sis.

Kassaundra nice to hear from ya' again.

This is some scary crap. When I process the extras, I save the organ meat for the flock, I mix it w/ cheap bread and they have a feast. So last time I processed I seem to have gotten too many loaves, I found one in the back of the pantry today. It's expiration date is in Aug, last Aug. Here is a pic, not a hint of mold growing on it, and it isn't even rock hard, it is a little hard, like cooked toast, not even like croutons.

That is definitely scary...what preservatives were in that bread that your flock consumed!

I had a friend that got "old" bread and fed it to his cattle and horses. Most of it hadn't hit expiration yet, just couldn't be shipped and stocked in the store with enough time left. I would often take his bread and throw out what I was eating because his "old" bread was fresher than what my lunch was going to be.

hey guys...not sure if anyone remembers me but I'm back...kind of...

I need some eggs for class...anyone got some cheap? Do they still have the auctions in blanchard and such?
Did you find some eggs? I can give you some barnyard mix eggs if you still need them.
I think there is still an auction in Blanchard. I know there is one in Newcastle. The last one was Saturday. The FB group is
The Chicken Coop's Auction Barn
There is also sort of a chicken swap meet in Bridgecreek. The FB group is
