My DS, 3.5 yo, watches the Australian group for kids "the wiggles" on Nik jr. I'll never be able to look at my "waffles" again without laughing! Do you think I could talk Poco into making different colored t-shirts for the four?

What a silly idea. It's got me thinking

It looks like some folks have already attempted to make T-shirts of their chickens.

Do you think a onezie would be more comfortable?

Nice birds Wayne and bFrancis...wiggly Waffles

I'm going out to the pens with my camera to see if I can get the cornish X white rock hen to pose.

Believe it or not, both the Buff and Black Minorcas were hatchery pullets purchased at Atwoods this past spring. They are laying the only white eggs my flock lays. Minorcas are a little flighty...both in attitude and heights. One of the black ones roosts on the highest level she can find. When she was in the teen pen, she was on the loop on the cattle panel about 8 feet up. They make nice hens.

Here are two photos of my hen. Her daddy is a dark Cornish and her momma is a white rock. She's broader than my full-blood cornish pullet, but she's not as heavy. I'm going to see if any of my shots were clear enough to get more detail on the lacing.

Morning Everyone!

Well it seems like the rest of the week is going to be busy, busy, busy. Sunday should be a day to relax a bit.

The newest member of the family is doing well. I will try to post some pics soon. We named him Stanley, he is a mini dapple dachshund, seven weeks old today and is so darn cute. Stella was not sure about him at first but last night they were playing together, so it is all good. Like Stella he is going to be a satelite dog. Never wants to be more the 2 feet away from me.

Excited about going to Maud auction tonight. Maybe I can find some good deals.. Think I might have to put my long johns on. The temperature is nice but the wind is frigid out there. Brrrr!!!

Just got home...went to three places in Shawnee to find the right gauge wire fencing/hardward cloth to make my cages. Atwood's only had 19 gauge and Ace Hardware/Buford White said they didn't have anything better than 19 gauge. Humpf.. I know they have fencing material but weren't being very creative in their service department. I went to Lowe's to the garden/fencing section Found what I wanted in 16 gauge...1/2 x 1 inch x 30 inch width and 1 x 1 inch rolls in 24 inch width. I already have the crimp clips so I'll make up the first two cages to gauge how much more I'll need to purchase to finish all six new cages. I want them to be 30 x 48 and 24 high...so they can be used for both LF and the Bantams...18 inch high is not big enough for the LF to stretch their necks. Will probably have to make a metal support strip at the 24 inch middle to help support the top...like a perimeter loop.

Need to prepare dinner and our Granddaughter has a choir concert tonight...so family things first. Ho Ho Ho!
