***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Had a break in the rain, briefly checked my tomatoes. The oldest plants (that I started in jan) look the best. The younger ones are a little wind whipped but if they don't make it we have back up plants.
Checked the birds, no guinea eggs & 4 more boiled eggs are missing. Stupid snakes! Need to find some sulphur I have heard that helps by burning snakes bellies. Tonight I will put some fresh moth balls down at the barn.
Now it is raining again! Thankful for the rain, my garden is thankful too!

Kass who lives around you that will be attending poops? Better yet, just take a vacation day & come to poops & hang out with us. No reason to let your day job interfere with chickens & friends.

I see cowboy said what was in his pen before I got my post in!
Cowboy did you catch anything last night?

The eggs I am bringing you are out of the black austrolopes and giants, and 2 blue NN hens. Under my Blue NN rooster. All my chicks have been coming out blue, splash or black. With about half being NN. Got rid of the top knot hens so they will be know more of them.

Sounds great if you has extras I will take those as well, so we will have plenty to share with Kass. Glad the spitzhaben have been removed from the picture. I hear they are flighty & dont think they are strong egg producers. DD likes to hold & pet her birds. Doesn't work well with a flighty bird!

Robin, here's a couple pictures of the cross beak baby. I'll make them thumbnails so you can just click on them to see bigger pics. The last one is with his mouth open peeping. I know it makes me sound like a terrible person but otherwise I'd probably end up taking the little thing to the vet and having him put down. I couldn't do it myself obviously. He deserves a chance at life but I just don't feel at this point in time that I can put forth the extra effort he needs. I know that sounds selfish but at least it's honest. I'd much rather make a 4 hr round trip to you than a 10 minute trip to the vet to put him down. Does that redeem me just a little?

i fully understand- it takes alot of work and time- i don't fault you...":) i am working with one little one that hatched a third the size of the others- he won't shut up and not sure whats up...
