It is amazing how strong a big tom can be. I am glad you like them. I am still waiting to hear from Lisa about the Polish.

Are there any BYC members within a 15 mile radius of Del City that sell free range eggs to eat? I don't currently have any laying hens and my son is on a weight building program where he likes to eat about 6 doz eggs each week (actually, he only eats the yolks from about 3 eggs out of each dozen and the whites from the entire dozen. ) I need to find a source for 7-10 doz eggs each weeks for a few months, until I have laying hens again. I don't mind driving some, as long as I can get all the eggs I need each week in one location.
Thanks,
Maribeth

Does anybody plan on going to the Cement auction on Sept-6, I think i will go and bring a few birds to sell, what do you think the turnout will be, it sounds as though attendance has been down these last few auctions statewide. and that it is a buyers market lately.

This evening I met a young woman who has poultry and rabbits. She is looking for a female Great Pyraneese to keep her male Pyraneese puppy company and protect their rabbits and chickens. Do any of you know of a BYC member/friend in Central Oklahoma with a female Pyr for sale?
Thanks

Gerald and I think we're going to take the long drive to the Chupps auction in Inola (I hear it's in the morning) and then try to make it to Cement in the evening. I doubt we can do both though, but looking at the map, they're both off of I-44 (just opposite sides of Oklahoma

Yes, attedance has been low at the auctions we've been to, and prices have been low for most everything but the laying hens and specialty breeds. We really need to sell some birds too.

Carla :

What a long day that sounds like, I hope to see you there though, I was thinking of bringing a black Sumatra rooster i have but not sure yet, there are some others that need to go too, mostly younger birds, i hope the turn-out is better than last month.

We hope to be raising some next year, if we ever find a really nice male, preferably registered. I absolutely love our 2 pyrs.

There's a couple of female pyr pups advertised in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper today, one is 5 months, one is 8 months.

We don't usually have many eggs left over from hatching egg sales, but I think we could get 4 or 5 dozen to you this week if you'd like.

I am here, all the kiddos you brought to me are doing great, they love it here. Turkeys are settling in. I am thinking of free ranging them next week. I may wait for another week or so so I make sure they remember where home is.
