but the best for eating is New Zelands or Califorians..they both make great stir fry.. lol some say better than chicken.. lau

LOL

I have nothing against eating rabbits. I have never eaten it, and not b/c of the cute factor. My parents ate it when they were kids, but they didn't prepare it for me and my siblings. I would probably eat it, just never have.

Think of a small cocker spaniel - that is the size of a full grown Flemish.

Poultry and bees,

Grace, I'm sure we could find a spitz roo for you. I don't know when we'll be able to make another trip there though, I am finally getting to change back to the shift I was working previously, which is until midnight every weekday. I'll have to make special arrangements to plan a day off for a future auction. I do enjoy going.

Yes, we went to the auction in Blue/Durant, but only got there in time to see the last half hour of it. We expected it to be like the others we went to, where it usually lasted into the morning hours, but I guess because of the weather and being summer, they had a much lower turnout. It was sure disappointing to drive for over 2 hours to turn around and go home 30 minutes later. We unfortunately missed buying some birds that we would have liked to bid on.

We also went to the Maud auction on Thursday night. It too had fewer animals and ended several hours earlier than usual.

As for future auctions ... our plan is to go see the next Chupps auction in Inola, on the first Saturday of the month, and if possible still go to the Cement auction the same day (probably impossible) and then go to the Blanchard auction on the 2nd Saturday of the month. I'm hoping to sell some of our extra birds ... actually I hope a lot of them!

Carla, What all kinds of chickens do you have available?

Also, don't forget the Prague auction is coming up in mid September and I still hear there will be a new harrah auction near the end of September.

Oh, I forgot about the Prague auction. Please let me know when it is! and if another Harrah auction comes about too!

As for chickens that are available for sale, I mostly have unsexed juvenile orpingtons, and jersey giants, and will have some extra cuckoo marans roos, maye a golden salmon marans roo, and ameraucana roos & maybe a Egyptian Fayoumi roo. I don't know of much else that I want to sell until I go through the pens and start grabbing them. I must do that soon! Gerald is complaining about the feed bill, so I guess it's time to reduce the mouths we're feeding!

I'd better start looking at those turkeys to sell, as soon as I give it my best guess as to their sex and save back some for breeding. I know they are the biggest gobblers of the food! Now I know why they call them GOBBLERS!

I should sell some of my cute lop eared bunnies too ... maybe 4 or 5 of them.

I've got other birds too, silkies, guineas, etc. but I think they're still spoken for by some BYC Okies. I hope to get the birds to them at the next auctions!

Ok so I looked the Chickenstock website, and yes I did watch the Techno Chicken video.

But I didn't see where it is going to be held... ??? I must have overlooked it, and I'm sure we've all talked about it, but I don't remember.

Different owners for the Harrah auction? I would *love* to see a good auction in Harrah.

Im 5 miles from the Prague auction and i love it but i can usually only go on Sat and most of the best birds sell on fridays sigh.

So sorry Monty and all for delay in posting. I did get the turkeys to their own big pen yesterday. OMG that was a wrestling match for sure. My daughters boyfriend won the gold medal for turkey wrestling. That bad boy is strong. I just love my new birds and they are so happy the be here. I had no problems at all.

Thanks Monty.

Yes I still want the guineas. And some GJ's. Carla.

Carla, you mean you are one of the priveledged few who has actually seen the end of our poultry auction!

That is too bad that it ended very early the one night you were a little late

It's okay if you won't be down here soon, because there's no telling what birds I will have after the Fair anyway. I just thought I would probably want a rooster for my sweet little girl when spring comes
