quick...somebody write down the date...I just put more quail in the 'bator! Holler at me in 16 days so I can put them in the hatching tray

Does anyone really think I am capable of doing that on my own

Teach, I just put a note on my calendar to remind you on Thursday November 5 to put those eggs in the hatcher. You poor thing...we all have to help raise Teach!

Early, get some nice, regular, standard egg laying chickens...they are the best!

i just need to know WHERE to get these chickens....Possibly Auburn looking..a little white..like this....

I visited some friends in Kentucky and this is the type they had.. very kind I had to have a picnic with it

Of course, she told me how to do that too late for the quail I have hatching today. Yesterday evening I detected a bad odor coming from the incubator and started tossing the eggs into the live traps, before I decided to open one up and realized there was still a chance some would hatch. (couldn't remember when I put them into the incubator - sound familiar?) Anyway, I gave each of the remaining quail eggs the sniff test and put the ones that didn't stink back into the bator - they started hatching this afternoon

sooooo... if i am looking for a bird such as that... what would i put a call out for... or.. better yet... do YOU know anybody with this particular bird... or a breeder my way (southwest Oklahoma)...

That hen is gorgeous....but if I would have tried to take a picture like that... that thing would have pooped on the quilt, the books, AND the basket...and that would have been before the first shot.....
