Good morning all.
Hiya Monty, Teach and Clucks, and everyone else that I missed. How y'all durin'?
Brick, that's a nice deer that your grandson brought home. He's lucky to have a place to hunt these days. Tell him to be thankful for the chance to get out and enjoy the hunt, but that the success of the hunt isn't measured by the kill. Too often, kids feel pressured to bring back meat and feel that anything less is a failure. Part of my speech to every kid I ever took hunting included the statement that it's perfectly ok to fall asleep out in the woods. Some of the best naps I've ever taken were taken with my back against a boulder and a rifle across my lap. It's all about enjoying the time in the woods.
City, are you tuned in this morning? I hope I'm not the only one hearing "Don't Cry Blue" by Jonathan Edwards.
