Ronnie Atkeson - sorry about your girl. TJ is on antibiotics
for an ear infection, too. Am sure this weather isn't helping.
They did have a good turnout in spite of the cold. The kids
took 9 birds, 5 1sts, 3 2nds, and 1 3rd. TJ won Grand
Champion of Show with his New Hampshire Red Bantum
Pullet and got another monogrammed chair.

Did talk to Mr. Kivttum about the NPIP. He says we can
fill out some paperwork, have all our show birds tested,
and pay an extra $5 and will be registered with NPIP,
and be good to go for a year at a time. Sounds reasonable
to me to avoid the hassle.

And, go figure, this was a 4-H show and there were lots
of rabbits there, too. One farm was there that is specializing
in a different breed now, so GAVE away mini-rex rabbits.
Naturally, my kids ended up with 3 of them.....One of which
only needs 2 more points to get her championship! So now,
they think we need to chase the rabbit shows as well...........

Ahhhhhhh.........life in "Na-Na-ville"

Na-Na, your TJ is quite the little show master! Tell him we said congratulations

The only "90 days" I remember being mentioned in our NPIP info was for the age birds had to be tested (3 months). Is it possible you confused this with the date the certification lasts for?

Luvs, you know the cardinal rule for owning a Sportsman is that you must fill it up each time you run it

But, seriously, if I was closer I would take you up on that offer

Slightlycracked, this is probably irrelevant now, but..... The first time I had my birds certified, I did not get my certificate in time so I did just mail a copy of my 'little yellow papers'.

god i hope not! if i did they will revoke my testers liscense!

and yes birds do have to be 90 days old to be tested. only problem with that is the usda says 4 months, [120 days].
but since the state liscenses us, we go by their rule.

TJ's na na, do you have any bantam hens for sale? I dont care if they are pure or mix i just want them running around my place this spring to help with the the million tick army i seem to have waging war with me.

Just got back from the Jones auction.
I got to finally meet NNbreeder and I got to talk to Poultryand bees. Of course not long enough. It was nice seeing them both.
All poultry sold in an hour and a half.
Overall everyhting was pretty cheap. Especially roos.
Several pairs and trios of cochin bantams sold. Many colors.
there were also some Mille Fluer roosters. I am not sure if they were D'Anvers or D'uccles.
Some mottled OEG bantams sold too but I think they were on the back side of old.
Not a lot of hatching eggs but three dozen Welsummer eggs sold for $9 a dozen.
Not very many rabbits either but the ones there looked nice.
Only three tom turkeys and one pair of ducks. There were also some pigeons. Guineas went pretty cheap too.

ya know, your gonna make me take a road trip. i hate it when birds sell cheap, and i'm not there to at least run the price up!

ok, someone tell me where this auction is.. i may have to sneak up there next time and see what is going on!

looks like the small auction in chouteau may be over with. going to do a little investigating tomorrow and see if i can find out what is up.
