had a little trouble with the pic thing at first, but i think i got it figured out now.

only thing i didnt like about the show is the "table show" thing.

carl is the only one i know of that does it anymore. i just feel there is too much of a chance of losing a bird. not to bad in that enclosed building there, but he used to do it in a more open barn in muskogee with the occasional loss of a bird.

of course carl is one of the few extension agents that is so hands on, and also one of the few that hasnt gone to the "urban" agenda in 4h.

Gerald and I went to the Blanchard auction. I guess it lasted about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I'm guessing the cold weather kept people from bringing many birds in. There were lots of roosters, several cages of black jersey giants, some ducks, rabbits, rats, nest boxes, etc. We bought 4 really nice blue ameraucana hens for $13.50 each. Gerald has several egg customers he works with that love to buy the blue/green colored eggs.

I was amazed at how many hatching/eating eggs were there, at least as many there as was 2 weeks ago. I'm guessing at least 50 dozen and most selling for less than $3 a dozen.

Oh, and there were puppies and kittens there too!
