I have them! A silkie feathered cock with two silkie feathered pullets and one smooth feathered pullet. I'm hoping they'll be laying by the middle of spring.

Everybody doing OK? I had to take my Mom to the docs in town this morning. Didn't want to do it.... I have never driven in ice before. But I made it!! My Mom fell on her butt in the parking lot of the docs. (scary since she has 3 ruptured discs and a torn rotator cuff and is 76!) and I fell on my butt in the driveway when we got home, but we seem to be no worse for wear. I inched home at 35 mph and all was well... boy was I praying my butt off. You guys out there towards the city are supposed to get it worse... Hang in there.

The good news is my mom is doing MUCH better...

I just got in and we got a mist going on, i hope it dont get worse or start to freeze. I realy would like to make it to work tommarow, but if i stay home I at least want POWER. Thank god for our wood stove.

Hennie, I am glad you and your mom are ok after your falls. Good to hear your mom is better.
It is ice covered here. Trying to batten down the hatches.
Well at least you got some rain, even if it is in the solid form.

It's cold & rainy outside. Thankfully, it's not frozen here yet. I just got finished feeding the chickens and covering them up the best I could. I'm not looking forward to this cold front. I'm through playing winter. The fun is all gone. It makes me remember asking Santa for a fireplace. Was I sleeping (or not) when he made his deliveries because I didn't get one?

Bring on the ice. My house is totally electric except for the water heater and I have a generator. As long as my cable doesn't go down, I'll have entertainment and internet.

The grandsons want to get out on the 4-wheelers so I see a lot of hot chocolate in my future.

3 weeks, GoldRose. That's the typical amount of time. I'd let them go a week or two longer to be sure.

THANKS! Guess after this ice storm, I'd better separate them so I can have some babies! KB :)
