Wow. That makes it even a more special gift. Just keep in mind that you don't need to try to repay him, you just need to find a special way to say "Thank you."

OK new subject . . . I am completely excited about POOPS!

I just hope I can get rid of these extra birds before then, if not they will be in a cage for sale!

We have decided to tear down FIL house and garage.

In its place, we are placing a new double-wide and huge enclosed chicken coop!

I just pulled in to the ole home place an hour ago, the DW has been without power for about 8 hours during the day while i was gone and the kid in school, We just got back up, a nice electric lineman supervisor pop in to tell us it will be on again off again for the next few days until they get the folks to the east of us up, I gave him a pot of coffee for the guy's and wished him luck. So the electric power drama continues LOL, there is about a 20 mile circle from here to Marlow all country folks still down on power.

My chickens came through like champs with no casualities and no squaking, it's kinda wierd but when the ice hit the coop was covered in a insulated 2" of ice and it was mega toasty in the coop, until it melted the inside is fine but the outside is a tad bit slippery.

I will post the lenghty full version of the official POOPS anouncement in detail as soon as some of the particulars have been ironed out, rest assured Monty and I are on the job and all is as it should be and as many of you have become acoustomed to.
I have been dealing with some minor issuues here at the house that have put a slight crimp in our planning schedule, but the show is going forward.

AL

Hi Al! Shoot! Sorry about your power going out again. You said earlier you were afraid it might not hold and I'm sorry you were right.

(Watch out for that Monty fellow - he's probably hurriedly editing posts as I type!)

The best thing for a sore throat is gargling with very warm salt water. About 1/2 tsp table salt to 2 cups of water. It hydrates the membranes in your throat so they aren't so tight and sore. Gargle about every 2-3 hours.

Hot tea with honey also helps soothe a sore throat.

Are you sure you don't have strep throat? Any fever?

anybody have any ideas for a self contained outside brooder, i posted in the raising chicks, they suggested the brooder plans link. That was a huge waste of time. spent the last hour and a half looking at boxes, tubs, etc. with wire tops and a heat lamp.
