I didn't get to show Al, bummer. My neighbor down the road had a broke water line on his side of the meter the day before, so I spent the day helping him dig it up and fix it. We also had a weather report calling for rain and I needed to get another till on my half acre garden & get it planted before the rain hit, once it gets wet it stays wet forever so I needed to get that done. All that took up my get ready time, so I didn't show.

Matt : what a busy weekend you have had, I am getting tired just reading your list of to do's.

Howdy everybody. If everyone has been as busy as I have this weekend then they must be as tired as I am. LOL

Hey Al...that is an awesome idea about planting some veggies by the coop. I just may have to steel your idea. What all do you plant there?

Q...did you end up buying much at Chupps. I never bought a thing....which is probably good. LOL

Everybody send me some hatching joo joo...I just put 72 eggs into the hatcher....they are already peeping inside.

Can't wait. There's just something so special about little baby peeps. They just steal your heart.

I then put 180 eggs in the bator. I told my DH he better get my round water trough set up cause we were in trouble if he didn't . He said he thought I was nuts.

I said I may be but you still love me...LOL

. I plant things like squash I let them get big with lots of seeds cause it goes a long on the feed bill. I also Plant Pumpkins for fall worming, Peas because they love em and they grow easy, I also grow a bunch of cucumbers out there cause they grow like mad. With the plot so close by I can water easily when I feed and I don't have to carry them far and when I start to pick the treats they start to freak out, it's pretty funny and Laura & Alyssa like it and they hang out with me while I am out there.

You and me both my friend! I tilled the 1/2 acre each day for 5 days straight. The first day, before the first till, I cleaned out the coup and spread a years worth of that all over the 1/2 acre. Each day I tilled the ground was a little dryer until finally after the 5th day I was ready to plant. So far all I've put in is red, white and yellow onions, red and gold spuds, and I took a chance & put in three rows of corn figuring if we don't get another freeze I'll have corn early. I still have to plant -

Jet Star, Beefmaster, & cherry maters
red, green & yellow bell peppers
cucumbers
squash
radish
4 different kinds of hot peppers (Mexican wife, you know...)
and ocra

I'm also putting in 5 blueberry, 5 blackberry, and 5 rasberry bushes this year but they won't produce until next year. Already planted 3 more pecan trees... I'll be old, grey, and won't have any teeth to eat them with by the time they produce but Maria said we had to have them.

All those pullet chicks I bought at last year are starting to lay, I got 8 eggs today and two of them were first timers. I have one hen that lays the biggest chicken egg I've ever seen, I weighed it on a postal scale that I have and it was 3.2 ozs. They are double yolkers every time! Yummy!!

Thanks for the offer but I don't keep Bantams, never held my intrest much, but that Standard Lay Grey Rooster does have a place in one of my flock programs
