I didn't get to show Al, bummer. My neighbor down the road had a broke water line on his side of the meter the day before, so I spent the day helping him dig it up and fix it. We also had a weather report calling for rain and I needed to get another till on my half acre garden & get it planted before the rain hit, once it gets wet it stays wet forever so I needed to get that done. All that took up my get ready time, so I didn't show.

Matt : what a busy weekend you have had, I am getting tired just reading your list of to do's.
AL
You and me both my friend! I tilled the 1/2 acre each day for 5 days straight. The first day, before the first till, I cleaned out the coup and spread a years worth of that all over the 1/2 acre. Each day I tilled the ground was a little dryer until finally after the 5th day I was ready to plant. So far all I've put in is red, white and yellow onions, red and gold spuds, and I took a chance & put in three rows of corn figuring if we don't get another freeze I'll have corn early. I still have to plant -
Jet Star, Beefmaster, & cherry maters
red, green & yellow bell peppers
cucumbers
squash
radish
4 different kinds of hot peppers (Mexican wife, you know...)
and ocra
I'm also putting in 5 blueberry, 5 blackberry, and 5 rasberry bushes this year but they won't produce until next year. Already planted 3 more pecan trees... I'll be old, grey, and won't have any teeth to eat them with by the time they produce but Maria said we had to have them.
All those pullet chicks I bought at last year are starting to lay, I got 8 eggs today and two of them were first timers. I have one hen that lays the biggest chicken egg I've ever seen, I weighed it on a postal scale that I have and it was 3.2 ozs. They are double yolkers every time! Yummy!!
