Had a casualty yesterday, my new litter of bunnies are almost all dead from the heat, may save a few, put more shade out for everyone yesterday also!!!! Ice bttles and shade!!!! Don't know what else to try! Lynn

Hey Monty, Les, Micheal and any of you others that might have any Gamefowl conections or know anything about them, please look at my pic and tell me what breed or strain you think they might be, They look like Hatch or Claret to me, I can't remember which breeds have white legs though, it has been a while since I had any Reds, appreciate the input! The chicks I got were Welsummer, white/buff rocks, barred rocks, RIR and "mixed" - I guess I only have 5 varieties instead of 6 unless you count the "mixed" chicks as more than one variety.

This is definately the time of year to get chicks however. No extra heat required if you just put their box in the garage.

Edited to add: put some electrolytes in the water for the rabbits. That will help them drink more fluid and stay better dehydrated. The electrolytes are good to add to the water for the chickens right now also.

Good Morning Everyone!... Working on 2nd cup of coffee this morning.

Thanks to everyone who came by to see Doc at his last Auction for a year.

WE fired him last night and didnt allow him to work.
We made him just sit down and visit everyone.

Sorry Al was feeling ill last night. Al, You missed it buddy!

I have to keep chicks from non-NPIP flocks separate from the rest of my flock until they are 4 months old and I can test them. Or, like these, I can just give them to someone else who wants chicks but can't afford $2-3 per chick at the feed store. My friend will be so surprised when I gift her with these.

Morning Okies!

Happy Father's Day to all our BYC daddies!!

Well woke up to the phone ringing, where Uli informs me I forgot to close the gate last night but did not have time to come in and let me know they were out.

Well I found them around the corner at a neighbors house eating their tree branches and drinking out of their kids pool.

A bucket of feed and they followed me home. Dumb me for forgetting to close the gate.

So much for sleeping in....

I am trying to motivate myself to get some chores done but am having a difficult time of it. Not enough sleep!! Maybe a nap is in order. I may not be a father but was a single mom long enough to learn the habits of Father's Day. hehehe! Not sure what we are going to do today after Uli gets home for work maybe just hang out and watch a movie or something.
