Henny it is great to see you back and about with us, I pray that our good lord continues to bring peace to you and your family as well as give you the answers to any questions that you may have!!!! I know what you are going through but only it was with my grandmother she lived with us for a long while and we soon had to put her in a nursing home where I continued care for her until she finally went "home"

I am a hatching failure!! The langshan eggs from TJ's NaNa fizzeled out, and my hatching exhibt for the fair is a bust!!

I don't know what happened to the Langshan eggs, I watched my temps and humidity all along and then nothing!! When I candled them I saw movement and everthing. The incubator I used has NEVER hatched an egg yet!! When I had great hatches before it was in a borrowed incubator.

The fair exhibit eggs- I had them in a friends sportsman, and I was told that it pooped out by her hubby. I need to call her for sure. He said she woke up Wednesday morning and it was cool. If she got it fired back up they could be just a day or so behind but if she didn't poor little birdies!!

I will be MIA for awhile!! Fair week begins. I have been at the fair barn for the last 2 nights trying to set up the poultry barn. They moved us into the beef barn so the set up has been slow. We have never set up in this barn so the lay out is WWWAAAYY differnt.
We will spend all day tomorrow and Sunday trying to get it ready and decorated for the fair.
Monday I am helping check in the indoor exhibits and taking Shaun to tour the middle school. It's his first year in the middle school

I think this is going to be worse on me that kindergarten ever was!!
Tuesday I will be doing NPIP testing for ALL of the poultry enteries. Checking in Shaun's goats.
Wednesday- the poultry judge will be there, goat weigh in and goat show.
Thursday- I work the 4H concession stand and Shaun hands out ribbons for the beef show.
Friday- premium sale. Lets pray HARD that Shaun makes sale with his goat.
Saturday- another day in the concession stand and release of poultry exhibts.
Sunday a day of recovery?? Oh NO!! Go back to the fairgrounds and help take down the poultry cages, goat and hog pens.

So I will talk to you guys in a week or so.

Hi everyone as you know the fall P.O.O.P.S will be Sept. 26th. It has been decided that we would have a Pot luck lunch & dinner! We are looking for foods that are just as good cold as they are hot.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in. We will also have limited space to keep things cool between lunch and dinner, so if you bring something that needs to be kept cool make arrangements for that. For some folks that travel you could possibly have your ingredients made and put them together on site. Keep in mind the number of people that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

We will also need paper goods, silverware & drinks. I have a couple of large igloo coolers that can be used for tea & kool-aid. If you have an one we could use let me know. I will need volunteers for set up before each meal along with volunteers for clean up after.

Please contact (PM) myself or TJ’s Nana if you have any questions or if you need a suggestion as to what you can bring. I will keep a running list of items.
