Well we finally got settled in after returning from Idabel. Our results are:

Liz's bird
Egyptian Fayoumi Hen - 1st, BV, BB, Reserve AOSB

Mine
Egyptian Fayoumi Cock - 1st, BV, BB

Liz got 1st in 6 and under Showmanship
Corey got 2nd in 7-10 Showmanship

This was the first time the girls have done Showmanship and I'm so proud. It has the girls definitely ready to go back for more. Corey has already went to the APA Standards to find the answers to questions she had missed.

I would like to mention that Grace is our local 4-H Poultry Club Leader. She is doing a fine job of building a strong team. Her hard work is paying off. Thanks for mentoring the younger 4-H members to become successful like you.

We also got a great deal on a young pair of Birchen Modern Games. The pullet's sister got Open Reserve Champion Bantam. They are from the Brent Davenport line. We are excited to add them to our flock.

City i would say it is raining but it is too darn cold! The back deck is an ice sheet! We have had about 1/2 inch of rain...very cold but the fire is still burning and I am contemplating another cup of chocolate!

Yes i can stay in that much trouble...really I can. the boys help with the trouble. The youngest acts like i do now...not Like me in school...I was very quiet and zero trouble until about 7th grade.

Showmanship is about the kid and not about the animal (in theory) It is about how the kid interacts with the animal how it is prepared and how the kid works to show its best features. Typically judges will ask questions about the breed, feeding, and such. Lots depends on the judge and the competition level...

We don't have any auctions here on the weekends either except Chupps and it's only once a month....there's Afton but the last time I was there it was horrible. I really envy those that get to visit at the auctions.

I saw Al at the auction. He brought me the pullet he picked out for me and I couldn't be happier with her.

I saw mr and mrs. SJarvis there too. We had a great time visiting and talking bad about all of you guys

Well Teach the cold means its getting closer to hunting season! That should cheer you up. Do you have any big hunts planned for this fall/winter?
Teach did I understand you got some Fayoumis at poops? how do you like them,I been thinking about getting some. Aren't they about the size of a leghorn or are they smaller?
