That would also imply that some of us give some pre-meditated thought as to when we post and what has been going on the thread prior to us posting. Not so.......!

TI know that is what you guys are doing. But if I am gonna have a complex I want a great big one with lots and lots of rooms. Or is that compound?

Had a heckuva day at work... I'm almost dead on my feet.

P&B, Okiemommy & I graduated high school together. I used to give her a ton of crap on a daily basis

My cat is currently "warning" my daughter's puppy. Ever seen a big ragdoll cat sit on a stepstool and bat a puppy until her little self is kinda off kilter? It's rather funny.

The puppy is off kilter... Rhodes hasn't done more than growl a little and swat her with a paw.

The parrots are trying to get a closer look at the chickens in the kitchen... still have to shingle the roof to the coop and put on the hardware cloth, but it's moved into my backyard. Pretty awesome, and no backs were thrown out in the process!

That will make it easier for the good folks in Kingfisher who are less organized than you are, to get their animal medicines on a Sunday afternoon.

What a small world that you and Okiemommy knew each other long before becoming chicken addicts. Now that I have met both of you, I have to say that ya'll must have had a very bright and talented graduating class.

Glad you got your coop moved from J's house to your house - and that no one was injured in the process. Now, it is time to start filling up the coop.

Dr Les,

Is it OK to worm (with Wazine) some birds that I'm giving antibiotics to? I have some young turkeys that I'm giving Terra-Bac antibiotics to because a few in the pen have swollen sinuses ... one or both sides of their face is swollen. So, I started the whole pen, including young chickens, on antibiotics to be sure it doesn't spread. I've never wormed any of them (they are all around 3-4 months old) and I'm thinking it would be a good time to worm them too, so they can get better faster. I didn't see anything on the directions labels not to combine wormer with antibiotics, but thought you might know more. Thanks in advance!

I have had quite a day today, we rescued some silkies from a guy down the road, he said that he just couldnt take care of them one ,of them had a eye that was matted over with something smelled like pooh, but anyhow and the others looked as thought they were having a hard time breatheing we have added electrolytes to the water, gave them vet rx, and the the eye unmatted the eye looks good just looks like it is infected around it, I am going to go and get Tylan tomorrow and start them all on it, what is the best solution for the eye tho?

Hope everyone had a great time at the auction and had a great day today!!!

Well, I'm happy. The Cowboys won, so I'll let Tony Romo keep his job. Now, I could go on about teams stomping teams that beat certain other teams...

But I'll just leave it at that.

Hi Quenston! You're kind for rescuing the silkies - do you have a place to keep them quarantined away from the rest of your chickens while you're working on getting them well?

edited - I just noticed that Monty already asked about isolation.
And I must be getting narrow-minded...the edit box is skinny!

KT, gosh I wish you had stayed & bought some of those guineas last night. They sold for way cheap ... I think all sold for around $2 ea, some a little more, some less. I was selling newly hatched guinea chicks for $4 each earlier this year. Anyway, those will be our last young guineas. Gerald thinks we need to sell the adults so that we can use their pens for some of our newest chicken additions. We need the 2 guinea pens for a pen for our blue laced red wyandottes, and a pen for our blue copper and splash marans. Anyway, if anybody is interested in adult guineas, they are for sale. I guess I need to advertise them on craigslist. Also, we do have a few that are around 4 months old in the growout pen with some young turkeys and chickens.

Oh and as for sexing guineas, the males have a bigger helmet (thingy that sticks up on their head) and bigger red earings. Also, the females have a double syllable call and the males only have a single syllable call.
