Thank you P&B for researching this and posting an update! I was so hoping that Dakota was better and home recuperating - it must be very serious if he is still in the hospital. Prayers sent!

Hello Okies, I like the vet tribute. It has been a while since I've posted last so, sorry for being the last one in on the conversation.

P&B-I usually just right mouse click as I read along on either 'post reply' or 'quote' buttons and open a new window or tab, that way I can respond to many posts at once (if I want, by copy and pasting) without losing my reading place. Sometimes I leave the Okies in the BYC page open to the last post that I read, so that it is easier to find later.

http://www.cutlersupply.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6 I use the adjustable aluminum because they are, well adjustable and numbered.

Sounds like a bunch going to Shawnee for the show

, you bunch of addict, I know you're shopping. Congrats on all the show stuff everyone and sorry for the losses (human and animal) and other problems. The prayer list is getting long and distinguished.

BTW, Wayne, it's not fair changing user name and avatar all at once.

That is incredibly handy information to have. I had no idea it was possible to do this (tried it with this post and IT WORKS)

Once you decide what you are bringing to sell, spread the word among us BYCers, and you should have a crowd waiting by your army truck

Henny there is an older house not far from me that sits on 104 arcers
about 15 miles from Chickasha

Allen

Is it free? I am really just looking for a manufactured house on like 3-5 acres.....that's IF I can get out of this one!!!

I think this is cross posting but you that are New Okie Pioneer just can skip over it. But you all know I can't spell or type very good so this is what you get. But some of you have ask about Chicken processing in Ok.

I just got back from a tour of the new processing plant (DARP) and all I can say, IS MAJOR WOW.

They are a GREAT set up. They have thought of every safe way to insurer that no bad bugs will come out of their plant. No big handling tanks where disease can be pasted on or spread around. They (the birds) are sprayed with Vinegar to kill anything by hand right out of the defeathering area. They have lots of hands on steps that insurances the safe processing. Once the insides are removed and the cavity is fulled with ice for a set length of time. They are put in to small bins where there just five or six in a bin. This keeps the mass production problems from developing then cool. Temp of bird must be lower to 40 degrees I believe for six hours, turkeys longer. Then they move to the bagging area. After bagging with the USDA stamp put on they are then moved of the refrigeration area.
For you that don't know a USDA stamp means birds can be shipped anywhere in the USA. That a whole lot better then just a state stamp.
This is a great operation and they did it all themselves in 60 days.

Oh and they are going to have a hatchery next spring and they will have the free range chickens to sell. At a reasonable price.
I am very exceeded to have found this group. They are working hard to help the small guy and are very much needed here in Oklahoma. To produce a Oklahoma product started, grown and finish here.

Thank you Raymond for taking the time to show us the plant. He did a much better job of explaining everything then I did. I should have had a tape recorder.

I am totally happy I just ordered 15 Belted Whites out of one the three last old flocks of them. OK I mean they related directly to them cause they be like 60 yrs old now.
I will place an order next week for my Chocolates, Jersey Buffs,White Holland,Auburn and Mottled Chocolates That is if husband can't figure out a really really good reason not to get all six breeds I want. I told him I was ordering12 different breeds so he think he really talked me down to six but that what I wanted first anyway. But if I said six he would have wanted me to do three. This way I get all I wanted. He wanted me to wait until Jan but I told him but then I wouldn't get any until late in the years if then because Porter already start on some breeds.
So, anyone else mapping out your orders.

I only have some marans to order around Febuary. I hope to be well set up with everything else I have by spring. Ive got more BBS Orps going in the bator. Just put in 51 silkie eggs, mostly bbs and with a little over a dozen white. I should receive more bbs Orps tommarow with a few nekkid neck eggs thrown in the mix.
