looks like the goal wasn't just to drive down the hiway, but to also take the big green machines through the mud and woods. Pretty neat.

Yeah, I think they had the most fun driving thru the mud today. It was an all day convoy & they met at the State Capital, went to the round barn & Pops restaurant today along with smashing pumpkins and playing in the mud too.

I don't know how that could have been more fun than going to the Shawnee Poultry Show

Well, if any of you guys wants to tag along with Gerald on another convoy, he usually has room for a person riding shotgun ... or there's the troop seats in the back.

Well, I must say he must have learned that great packing skill from somewhere, Teach did you say your last name was Clampett?

We made it back safely from the Shawnee show. Charlotte and I had a great time meeting everybody. It was a real hoot at lunch and can't wait to get together with everybody real soon.

We ended up getting 2 splash silkie hens, 1 black silkie roo, a pair of White Crested Chocolate Polish chickens, and 2 pairs of pigeons (ooops).

Now we have to read up on the pigeons, I don't know the first thing really about them, except they are birds, eat, poop, oh and that you pull their legs backwards in between your fingers while also holding their wing feathers all in one hand. It never fails, always finding more things to learn about.

They didn't say they weren't tonight, so I would assume that's means it is still on. I'm sure Jerry will chime in.

Interesting night. Sold four of my Cornish, bought a battery of nest boxes (don't ask how much), and witnessed a weird episode. An auctioneer from a rival auction was bidding on a bird that got POed, he didn't accept the asking price right away, so Micheal took it. The other guy then belatedly accepted, so the auctioneer on the stand didn't appear to know what to do so he tried to reopen the bidding process between Mike and the other guy, who started bellowing something about "what the ____ are you trying to pull", jumped to his feet, and started walking back to where Mike and I were sitting.

Then he saw it was Mike.

Changed his attitude real quick. I wouldn't guess it's a good idea to tick off one of the biggest buyers and sellers on the auction circuit when you own an auction, especially over a stupid five dollar bird. He got friendly-like with Mike real quick. I was actually kind embarrassed for the guy making a scene like that over essentially nothing.

There weren't many birds tonight, and only a few sellers/buyers. We were all done by 8. I understand there was some other bird event going on somewhere in the state.

I think some of us agreed that the prices at the "other bird event" were a bit high for those of us who just want a hen that will lay eggs on a reliable basis - and don't really care whether its feathers are all the right color.

The day went great, City, what with the success at the auction the incidental entertainment. I ended up spending most of the day getting my electric fence working, but only got 3/4 of it running. Looks like I will be busy with the rest of it tomorrow, so processing looks ify at best.

I kind of expected that kind of a weekend, though. Now that I got these new nest boxes, I'm excited about getting those things mounted in the coop.

How was your day?

I missed talking to several folks. It was fun to watch a couple of folks loading up. Cuban went home with a full truck and Teach had much less on his trailer when he left. I hope that Osukrazykate makes it home without having any leakage of the silkies through the cage and past the barrier she put on the seat of the truck. Let it be known that I only came home with an extra cage, an aloe vera plant from Carla and some cool books and raffle prizes.

Oh thank you so much! Yes we made it home without a huge mess and the cleanup was quick and easy. My husband was never of the wiser, LOL!

No harm, no foul - or in this case, the fowl caused no harm

Oh. Well, that makes me feel a little better about missing it, then. Although it would have been nice to see that many BYC Okies in one place outside a POOPS event.

$75 for the trio I bought, the largest roo & his two hens. I thought that was high until I heard the price for a pair of bantam ducks, wow!! A single bantam drake was $80.
