Okay, that's what I figured. Thanks!

good idea - wish I had thought of that last year when I installed 3 sets of them. I flipped up one set of them to limit the number of nest boxes they could get into, but never thought about flipping them up and down daily.

I once had two of those hanging and only maybe 15 hens. They all layed in the same hole

Hey Q....I would!

I LOVE those birds. I bet I looked at that trio about 10 times. I wanted them so bad....but with Christmas coming up thought I shouldn't. So if you have some later....I would love to get some.

I thought I was going to have to give them Rich's half of the bed...LOL....we have no more room in the inn. We came home with 12 new birds....and that was not so good. Richard said why don't we plan for this and then we don't have to struggle to find a place to put them. I told him that wouldn't work...that was part of the addiction...you buy and then scramble for a place. LOL He didn't think it was so funny when we were running around at 11:00 in the cold awhile ago.

Donna, Do you trust me!
I am a recovered chicken addict and I can help you.
Send me a list with every chicken you own, breed and gender.
I will help you decide what you should keep and what you should sell.

I told Rich it was happy anniversary to me when I bought them. Probably not too many women dumb enough to want birds for their anniversary...especially the 25th. LOL We stayed up until now just to say we had been married for 25 years. So I guess I better get to bed or the 20 turkeys that I have to chase at school tomorrow will put me over the edge.

Catch ya later,

I went over and looked at her but they don't want my feedback as I would have everyone saying Huh? Or worse yet " what an idiot"

The front of her neck is free of follicle, no sign of feathering at all. And take your hand and cover all but the legs, look kinda stout to you? Like maybe Cornish or Oriental Game? Many of our Orientals have a bare streak running from the head down to the base of the keel bone.

I really think she is a sport, a throw back to the Oriental, Malay, used in the breeding of the RIR. Just certain traits came out

You answer sounds pretty good. The reason I brought it up is that I recognize some of the posters from other threads. I disagree with them on subjects that I know a little more about. I thought there was a pretty good chance that they got stuck on a wrong train of thought. There seems to be the ones who always "dito" the first response. Then there are the ones who disagree, no matter what the first response was. I was pretty sure "most" chickens don't have red down their necks, as was suggested. It just seems that with all the bickering, the OP never gets the help they were looking for. Thanks for looking!

Nothing like being 20 minutes late for work to completely throw a wrench in a morning... I'm just refusing to let me get into that "mood". You know the one... the snappy, grumpy mood.

Instead I shall focus on happy thoughts about chickens

Way to go Faeri! You are bigger than they are! Just keep thinking about those beautiful silkie chicks and pity those meat heads that don't have any. Tis the Happy Season. Smile and throw daggers with your thoughts!lol. After all it wasn't your fault you were late! (was it?)
