Good day Stimpy, Teach, Al, City, Cuban, Buckguy, Mallen, Shidalgo, Quenston, and Barnswallow!
I think that I got most everybody who is on here right now or just was.
Anyways, it is a BEAUTIFUL DAY outside. I love the sunshine!
Just came back inside a few ago to drink my chocolate coffee mixture. However, I will not be eating any grits, not now not ever.
I think they taste icky or really like nothing and are just well.......gritty. Feels like I am trying to eat sand or something and it is just not for me. I never had them or had barely even heard of them until I was in the military. Never ever again will I try them I don't care what you put on them. Now I do like cream of wheat! Yum yum it is good, put some sugar on it and some milk oh so good. However, I haven't had it in years either, since way before my daughter was even born. Hmmmm, I might have to pick up some cream of wheat the next time I go to the store.
How is everybody else's beautiful day going?
Oh, on chicken related issues. I too still need some D'Uccles, I was planning on getting some at the Shawnee show, but they were too expensive and I still need to replace 'Buddy' for Charlotte. He was a Porcelain D'Uccle. But I really would like to get a trio and then a couple of MF hens too. Although, as Cuban was saying, yes the Porcelain are MF with 2 Lavender genes. So potentially I could just get a Porcelain Hen and then breed her to Mr. Survivor (the MF D'Uccle roo who was smart enough to fly up and roost and wait out the massacre, why oh why did his wife not do the same and Buddy too. Charlotte always referred to the MF Hen as Mr. Survivors wife she was super sweet).
Hey Teach, I notice that you and your boys have almost the same breeds as we do. Perhaps we can start swapping some eggs come this spring and summer. I got those two splash silkies hens and the black roo from Betsy. I know one of your boys was telling me that his brother was really into the silkies. I plan on getting more silkies too, we really love the silkies. We used to have them in several colors and plan on searching to get more. I should be meeting up with Betsy soon, once our schedules permit (another busy week, Nutcracker is this weekend). I have also been searching around online for breeders with eggs to hatch here once it warms back up some. Also, once we get our pigeon set-up established would you like any NOE pigeons, or the Russians? (Can you tell me again what kind the Russian ones are called?)
Well, I am going to be back and forth on here today. I am going to be trying to get lots done outside today. I have almost complete my new breeding pens off of my greenhouse. But I am going to go ahead and start on a bigger aviary type building, all with the use of pallets for the structure. I saw some more pallets that I need to go ask if I can have and bring them home to get started on that one too. I begged the DH to leave me the truck today, of course, he didn't know it was for more pallets for more chicken buildings, hehehehe.
Oh well, I made him his favorite dinner last night, I will just remind him of that and maybe make another one tonight.
