Welcome to a wonderful group of poultry enthusiasts.
Disclaimer: Some of the fine folks on this thread are addicted to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, if you don't already have an addiction to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions or acquiring poultry, we would like to assist you in acquiring said addictions.

So, what kind of poultry do you have and what are you looking to acquire?

So what part of Norman do you live? I live east of Thunderbird Lake but teach in Norman.
Also what kind of birds do you have or want. If you are needing birds this is the place to get hooked up.

Once again

Evening Everyone!

Steph I hope your back is feeling better.

Glad to hear a lot of you checking in and are ok. If anyone hears from Stimpy let us know. He lives not that far from me but I do not know exactly where.

Well we have been really lucky, had our power out several time but it was only for an hour or so, which I am totally grateful for since without electric we have not water or heat.

Well is electric and so is the ignition for the heater. There are crews out in our housing covent working on getting the lines cleared of ice. In the lot next door there was a tree branch laying on the line smoking but they were able to get it down. I am going to get the woodburning stove put in by the end of february and get a generator as soon as income taxes come in. It has been nerve racking worrying about loosing power.

I knew it was cold and cruddy outside when my peacock who never goes in the coop, even during the last storm we had, walked in the coop on his own today and made himself comfortable. No heat in the coop but it is really warm from all the feathery butts in there. I will need to go put some more water out soon but all my birds seem to be handling the weather fine. Did loose one of my partridge cochins in the brooder. Not sure what happened so I am keeping a close eye on the rest of the babies.

The snow has slacked off here but I think we have about 7 inches and 1 inch of ice.

Been lazy today, other then fixing food and eating a lot. With this weather all I want to do is eat and sleep. I need to go clean up dinner dishes and get ready for bed. I do not have to go to work tomorrow but Uli does and he has to leave early.

Might try to get on again later. If not have a great night and be safe everyone!

Hey Sooner ! So, you're in for the weekend and don't
have to get back out in this mess? It has stopped
snowing up here. Hope it's overwith. Looks like we
have the 6" they promised us.

Gees, I feel for Al. They must have a lot of ice damage
down in that area. Am sure he has generators and
such because of his work. But, even at that, 15 days
would be way tooooo much of roughing it.

Have a good one !

Yes thank goodness. We got all the pipes buried and insulated. I fixed a leak under the trailer last week and got all the skirting back on. Uli and I have been discussing replacing all the PVC with PE since PE expands but will not rupture. Not sure I am ready to tackle that job yet.

How are you weathering this storm? Do you still have power or are you using a generator?

According to the National Weather Center next week we have 40 and 50 degree tempatures and rain. Yah....

Nana I always miss you!!!! When this mess clears I'm coming to see you! I can't wait any longer!

Yes I am in for the weekend, gonna be lazy! How are you guys holding out??

Yes my back is feeling better, still hurts but i can move and sit without hurting, mainly hurts when I am in the process of sitting or standing or bending but at least I am not in pain all the time now. Thank you for asking.

When we spoke with Al he said that PSO electric had main lines down, that the ice didnt just break small lines but some of their main carrier lines. That is why it is going to take so long to get electric back. My nephew is in Chickasha without power right now and he is in a hotel. I told him to check the house that we are working on to see if it still has power. He was going to. He said that alot of the places around the hotel were coming back up so hoping they get it back on soon. Until then his girlfriend is sneaking him into her dorm for warmth, the college has generators going.

We are doing fine. Have the big generator (welder) in place and full of gas - just in case we lose power. When it was sleeting last night, it appeared that we would lose power from all the ice on the lines.

Yes, I suspect that Al has generators going, but at some point, the noise will make you feel crazy. Hope Stimp and wife went somewhere there is electricity, since we haven't been able to reach them and know that Stimp couldn't get his generator running. Of course, Stimp also seemed to think he could sleep through a power outage, so maybe he is enjoying a long nap.

Looking at the weather radar, it looks like you will have snow for hours to come. It seems to have moved out of central and western Oklahoma.
