Dandelion - sorry you are still having snake problems. It's nice to have them around when they're after the mice and rats, but not nice at all when they're after your chickens. Good luck on thinning out the population.

I realize that they are pure, but I didn't want to have to set up breeding pens for two different breeds. I also can't get rid of our original ducks. We are just too attached to them. Don't get me wrong, I like the Mallards, but it wasn't what I wanted at this time.

I LOVE strawberry shortcake.

Well I am currently up to 3 RIR and 3 Seramas. Some of the Seramas are from chiclooker/oldmotherhen. I'm really excited to get some new strains in my breeding program. I still have one Serama that hatched a couple of weeks ago also.

Latest MIL story: wife had to argue with her the first night here about taking one of her nighttime meds. Now that full bottle is missing. I have tore her room apart, wife has looked thru all her stuff,I even dug thru the last few days trash! Can't be found no where and she ain't talking about it!lol

Saw on craigs where someone has some dark cornish for sale down around Stigler! Isn't it funny how we relate to where places are. I have no ideal where Stigler is but everytime I have heard that town mentioned it was "down around Stigler"!lolWonder what all is "around" Stigler!lol

We plan on moving around the end of June or sooner. It just depends on how soon we get everything done. The plumber is coming tomorrow. We are replacing all of the water and propane lines in the house. I got the paint today and will start painting this week. The kids' carpet will be done next week. I am going tomorrow to get everything for the bathroom after we completely gutted it. That just leaves the kitchen and I have to find someone to build cabinets or do it myself. The pre-made ones don't fit the area very well.

What I suspect is going on is that the older birds are carriers of probably a mycoplasm infection, due to the swelling and mortality rate. I have used Tylan on chicks as young as a week old but I only give them a single dose in a day.

The Teramycin and Duramycin are not as effective and will not act as fast as the Tylan.

Use the Tylan 4 days after symptoms disappear but not longer then 7 days total. If they are not showing marked improvement in 4 days let me know and we will go a different direction. I will PM you the best way to get me.

Thank you NN....I didnt have a problem until bringing home the chicks from poops.which makes me think the older ones are not carriers....I am treating them all and will let you know...........
