My DH and I both have been sick since Tuesday. We wanted to go to the Fletcher auction but were still under the weather.

We both feel alot better finally today.

I was so mad about missing Fletcher just to spend the whole weekend, nice weather and all, inside being miserable. I'm glad you guys are feeling better. I'm hoping to be functional by tomorrow; I have a long list of things to catch up on.

I'm in the same boat you are! I bought 13 chicks, 2 ducklings and 2 goslings back in April. Then in Aug I ordered 25 more egg layer chicks & 4 eye candy chicks, 2 Polish & 2 Cochins. Unfortunately, my JRT's did for one of the Cochins and so I only have 1 black one now. I love those wonderful 'bedroom slipper' feet! I need more Cochins..ssssshhhhh don't tell my hubby!

Those are some gorgeous birds! WOW! The more I see of the Cochins, the better I'm liking them.

I'm "afraid" that I will see some in Shawnee that I will just have to have! The show is in December - why can't Chickens be on my Christmas List?

She is very pretty.
My Partridges were the first chicks I got. After I got interested in working on a Mille Fleur project I thought I was going to sell the them but they are so pretty I'm going to keep them. Then came the Lavender project and the Mottles to help the Mille's type. The little Buff was an impulse buy but she sure is a nice color.......I need another pen if I want to raise Buffs.
The Partridge hens have the most beautiful pattern and their feathers are so soft. The Rooster is my friendliest bird and I love his color contrast; the green/black against the mahogany and those vermilion hackle feathers!
Every pen I look in, I say these are my favorites and then I look in the next pen......

cochins are beautiful- although these two girls are in PLS(pre laying syndrome) so they are standoffish- they are large cochins-

i am focusing more on banties at this point- the large birds are pretty well integrated--- so come spring i want more cochins and maybe silkies

I started out liking silkies (still do) but now I have started collecting cochins. I prefer standards or large. I just bought to very large, nice looking buff hens from Mike Daughtery.

My avatar is a pic of my blue cochin which has feathered out very nicley.

Those partridge banties look very nice.

there is a reason that I try to warn new folks about the "addicts" on this site who are also well accomplished "enablers."

by the way, the more birds you have, the easier it is to hide a few more in plain sight.

I got them from you! I am glad you decided to concentrate on standards and large and sold them at Blanchard but I feel guilty that I got them so cheap! If you ever want bantys again I owe you some.
