OMG! Help!!

Hey have just woken up for the day and viewed this thread. I'm pleased your got some pipped eggs. Now the nerve racking part starts. So much waiting for those little chickens. Yay 😊. Some hatches can take a little longer. I am just wondering if you have counted your day 0 as day 1? 🤔Just a thought as day 1 is at the end of the first 24hours of incubation. So your eggs might be on time.

I started incubating on July 10th at about 1:30 in the afternoon. I have the Hatchabatch app on my phone. So they are almost done with their 21st day. But thank you for pointing that out. I am still very worried over my egg that I cracked.

So, I opened up the cracked egg and it was not viable and shrink wrapped. The 1st to pip has not made any further progress. The 2nd one to pip is actually making a little more and is working on zipping. I am very worried about the 3rd egg that has not pipped. How long do I wait?

Have you read through the article about assisted hatching?

My experience is much less than the author, but I would say: later than you feel like you should. Give the wrong end pip 24hr. A wrong end pip is the internal and external pip all at once. Normally a chick would do one, rest 12hr or more, do the other and rest again, and then hatch.
Every time I think I might need to assist, it's usually too early.

Ditto - there is a reason the guides say wait Wait WAIT. Do not intervene until you understand what is happening inside and out in that egg. Also if your incubator was even slightly low, it can add a day or more to your hatch time.

There is also the risk of if you go in to intervene for one, you may shrink wrap another, depending on how quickly humidity recovers in your incubator.
