So...on day 1 of the "new" diet, I have done really well.

We went to Wal-Mart and got "healthy" foods. Fruits, V8 Fusion, water, veggies, fish, beef, chicken...no more pop...at all.

Then at 8:00PM. My attack hit. I HAD to have the pop. OMG...it was CALLING me. I could feel the lack of energy coming at me...

That stuff is ALOT more addicting than they say it is! I was actually thinking of ways to get out of the apartment so I could quench my thirst for a delicious Coca-Cola. My boyfriend said, "Well, maybe we SHOULDN'T quit cold turkey." So, off to McD's we went for some pop.

I'm thinking weaning is more realistic....

As long as I'm on the diet thing...has anyone ever heard of "Slim in 6" as an exercise tape??

I know how you feel! Mtn. Dew is my weakness. And imagine: I was a waitress and all the icy-cold sodas I could gulp-down were free....right at my finger tips. That was the hardest part for me.

I could not imagine not having anymore sodas, so I promised myself that Saturday thru Thursday, I wouldn't have any...Friday I could nearly drown myself in them if I wanted....surprisingly, I lost 50 pounds in 3 months.

I'm back on the sauce again though.....old habits are hard to break. Then I wonder to myself "Does it even matter if I'm slightly overweight??? I'm not a spring chicken anymore! [IMG] "

How much are you drinking? Maybe just cut back a little at a time... like weaning a baby goat off of milk. [IMG]

Mt Dew is my downfall, too! The longest I ever quit was 6 weeks, but I didn't lose any weight, so got discouraged and started drinking it again. I try to keep it to one can a day. All things in moderation, right?

    yummmm.... coke....

    Must. Have. Coke.

Good luck on your diet! Drinks are one of the hardest things for me (except it's starbucks for me which is much much more fattening [IMG] )

Quote:It really depends...if it's at the apartment...2 liters per day? (You CAN'T drink the water at the apartment...I can smell it when it comes out of the tap).

When I gave up Pepsi, it REALLY helped to switch to Jones soda. I think its the HFCS that is so addictive. Jones is pure cane. It certainly wasn't my favorite, but it helped when that attack hit! Then I gave up Jones before I became addicted to that [IMG]

    Good luck!

I was a Mt. Dew addicted until I went to the dentist and came home with 5 cavities in one trip. Now I am on Diet Mt. Dew and have not had a cavity since. And even though I am on the diet it is still addicting so I try to keep it down to 1 or 2 a day but yesterday was one of those days where I had about 4. Bad Me oh well I needed them becuase I had all of my summer classes dropped without warning but that has been solved and I am back in the classes and this is my semester in College. YEAH! Then I step foot in the working world which I am very blessed to have a job lined up. Sorry if this got off topic.
