OMG What have I done?

I hate chicken math! I went to TSC yesterday and came out with 6 chicks. And my broody hatched one the day before. Not to mention the 15 more I ordered! I never even had nor wanted chickens till last yr

. I believe I am now up to around 45 of the little buggers lol

Tell him he is soooo wrong....but there is MULTIPLICATION....its called an incubator...lol

Oh and by the way.....I quit counting a long time ago!

I just shared this post with my husband, we don't even have our chicks yet, and he precedes to tell me that there is such a thing as Chicken Subtraction.... So not only is there addition, he is telling me there is subtraction... LOL!!!! had to laugh.

Oh Chickiee - Get the biggest coop you can afford / have room for. I did thank God and haven't regretted it for a minute. My coop looked huge when I brought it home...did I mention I just added another coop? Lordy, Lordy - you'll have more than you know what to do with unless you have some serious self control!

Chicken math is alive and well here. Started with 7 that hatched in the 'bator on Feb 8th&9th. 7 more came yesterday from TSC. And one more showed up today because one of the 7 from yesterday has a bad eye, and might be a rooster...

I started with 16 chicken eggs, I'm up to 15 chickens.
There will be some subtraction once butchering day comes though.

I am really really good at chicken math.
I started with 12 eggs in the Hova-Bator, 11 hatched, picked up 4 from someone local who hatched .... 15 chicks in the brooder..... it's only been a week, but I think I need a bigger brooder.

I cannot goto TSC during chick days.Case in point. I have 30 chicks in the brooders. Incubator full. I go to TSC to get shavings. I ended up getting 6 more chicks. What did I need with 6 more chicks!

Hubbie cannot go without coming home with ducklings. I have to go to TSC Friday evening to get more shavings. I am hoping all the chicks are sold out when I am there.

We are headed to the TSC tonight... I am taking my husband, the voice of reason in my chicken obsession. He will stop me, I know he will try, oh heck, if I say I want them he will try and stop me, but it will not work.. good luck out there everyone.

I will not get more chickens, I will not get more chickens,,, chicks on the other hand.... no no no I will not get more chicks, I will not get more chicks...... hatching eggs ain't chicks or chickens ....rrrrriiiigght?

Is there a Chicken Addiction help group out there? I think I need help.

I am new to chickens and just got my first batch of 12 a little over 2 weeks ago. We are building our first coop now. As hubby is building it and it is almost complete I looked at him and said its too small can you build me a new one. He laughed and said No he thinks im crazy. I havent even got the babies into the coop yet and im already thinkiong of the new ones i want that I know wont fit. At first I thought I made a mistake in ordering 12 to match the size of our coop plan now i know I didnt think ahead and made the mistake of not having a large enough coop for new comers. Both hubby and I try to keep each other out of TSC as to not bring home any more... Till next year that is lol and a new BIG coop will be made.
