On Lockdown! - My Ancona hatch *Pics on p. 3, 5, 6*

ive heard 48 and no improvement. like if in 36-48 time its the exact same you can slowly help them out. i helped mine out and they were completley fine. of course i didnt have anyone to tell me to leave them alone so i interveened straight away but apparentley its not good. however the 36-48 hour thing is the agreed rule. that if like i said the duckling has made absoluetley no improvement or very little :D

Alrighty. I'm sitting on my hands until then!

Hard to type isn't it?

I crack me up..

We have a duckling! I was awakened at 4:00 AM by very loud peeping. The egg that pipped at 8:00 AM yesterday was hatching! I got to watch the whole thing and it was amazing.

At this point I got REALLY excited because it was apparent that this little one has gorgeous markings.

I'm guessing this is a chocolate. Its feet and legs have gorgeous markings. I couldn't imagine more beautiful, classic Ancona markings. I have named him/her Morning Glory in honor of his/her 4:00 AM appearance.

I was going to intervene and help out the eggs that pipped over 28 hours ago as soon as my DH wakes up, but they seem to have picked up steam. I think I'll wait a bit longer and see what transpires.

I also noticed another one has pipped. So I have one hatched and 5 with pips out of 13 that went into lockdown.
