I have seven chicks that are 3 weeks today on unmedicated feed. They have been raised totally inside apart from one warm day they went on the grass for about 10 minutes. My bag of feed is about to run out. I think I would feel more comfortable with medicated feed now that they will be going out more and completely out in 2-3 weeks. Is there any harm in switching at this age?

Is there any truth to medicated feed giving Silkies (i have 5 ) wry neck? Do I need to feed vitamins?

Do you prefer Manna Pro or Purina? It's what I can get today.

Thank you.

Sure you can switch to medicated feed now if you wish. @Ridgerunner just finished writing a book (haha) about medicated feed here.

Amprolium is a thiamine (vitamin B1) blocker so I could see the chicks not getting as much thiamine in their system as they normally would but I haven't heard of a course of corid causing wry neck on this forum. Not that it isn't possible. @Eggcessive, @casportpony , @Kiki, @dawg53, @aart may know more about it.
